Re: Stadium Village
825 SE Washington Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55414 Did someone buy this building? CorePower Yoga closed the Stadium Village location in this building on Monday. It wasn't a huge money making studio but CPY owns the yoga scene here. During the school year the place was actually pretty busy. They have been...

Re: East End / Thresher Square / Trader Joes - 713 Washington Ave S
I think more bike racks along Washington would certainly help. Their primary bike parking is 14 spots around the corner from the entrance. The racks in front of Jimmy Johns are nice, but for TJ customers, they have an 'around the corner and down the block' feel to them. I can only eat so much, so h...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
Maybe I'm alone here, but I just don't really see a bunch of 2-4 unit structures getting built in places that can only capture medium-ish rents. Development will primarily continue in the already hot areas (Wards 3 and 10 pretty much, plus the U/Prospect Park) Honestly, I just see the fourplex issu...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
I live in a neighborhood with several rental homes, apartments, many single family homes, and up until recently a mobile home park. I get the need for multi family affordable housing. Right now we have areas where these types of buildings are allowed, but aren't being built; why is that? Let's look...

Re: 800 Washington Ave S (Guthrie Ramp liner development: Reloaded)
Not that it's a make or break factor, but I'm puzzled at the comments saying the trees on the AECOM project won't survive. LPM and Nic on 5th are both supporting 2+ story trees on their roof decks. As long as the right cultivars are selected and proper measures are taken to enable their success, I ...

Re: 800 Washington Ave S (Guthrie Ramp liner development: Reloaded)
Sherman's proposal is 10 stories, has the most units (including 20% affordable), as well as the Pinstripes (very similar to their last proposal). The AECOM proposal is probably the best looking. 8 stories of for-sale condos (and ground floor retail) with a very unique facade. Can't say I've seen an...

Can you explain a little more what you mean about the taxes, and how it relates to this piece of land? I’m not familiar with how the system works in Minneapolis, much less any other city. The annoyance of taxes being based off of the development on the property and not the land is killing us in this situation. PRIME land. Empty. Eyes forever rolling.

It is exactly where the neighborhood decided they wanted development/density in their plan as well. So I think in general they should be fine with it.

3 bedroom units! This is good. And retail on a street I didn't expect it. And the facade is varied in terms of massing. I'm on board. The color is the only miss for me.

The funny thing about construction is that it actually proves we don't need it. The world hasn't ended.
At least bury the damn thing. ugh.

I feel like Finnegans has done alot to make this area more of a neighborhood. It might just be me but a local watering hole is a nice amenity haha.
