Re: The Great River Passage Plan

we are fortunate to have this amenity in the city. nice long range vision. but i hope it's kept undeveloped and wild. too bad the new xcel power plant was allowed to be built on the river.

unfortunate that in minnesota culture people can't seem to figure out the importance of harmonizing building height with adjacent structures. this one should have been two or three floors higher...

height is good. and better urban feel with this architectural type. too bad the other property wasn't designed for it's context:

it looks so suburban.

Re: Vikings Stadium

lousy layout. 4th street is still screwed up. along with two lrt lines. this design should straighten out 4th.
this was a great opportunity to fix that problem created from the metrodome. now minnesota is stuck with that mess for another 50 years.

Re: Green Line (Central)

This is pretty standard for light rail. Look at Interstate Ave in portland, OR. You don't want stupid drivers blocking the tracks. This is what it was always going to be. i don't recall seeing this as anywhere else? where have you seen it enough to call it the standard? i think it is so awesome in ...

Re: Green Line (Central)

the concrete walls serve as a barrier to keep vehicular traffic from obstructing the tracks, especially at right turns. i have witnessed many vehicles 'offtracking' in downtown st paul on cedar street. if a train was there, the front driver side of the vehicle would be struck by the lrv. or should i...

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)

The small triangle of land highlighted in the drawing has no discernible owner, so legally the county must use eminent domain to acquire it for the project. It seems the city had a road easement on the spot for over 100 years, so the property owner either died or abandoned it at some point, as it w...

That building has an interesting history. There is a very old building under there...a tower was added and it was "modernized" along the way. Even after the tower was added, they street level facade was still in place. Why would they destroy this facade?!? http://stmedia.startribune.com/i...

graffiti art would be appropriate for a garbage burner. i recommend we commission a Banksy similar to this: http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/633/1629490/Banksy_tox_Camden-London_June11_1000.jpg or this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/75/Banksy_Broom_Rat_New_Orleans.jpg/1...
