The Gold Line's news release has a map. Not sure why none of the news sources used it.

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
If only the Met Council had some capital money laying around it could use to fill the gap. Not the whole gap, but maybe about $6 million?
No idea where the could've found that amount of money though.

They have $1.8 million left of the $2 million the legislature gave them. Not sure how expensive this service is though.

Re: Red Line (Cedar Avenue BRT)
Rode the Red Line today for no particular reason. Couple observations: The smaller stations finally have ticket vending machines! There are no benches in the indoor waiting area, only outside. The bus I took didn't even pull up to the indoor waiting area, instead it pulled up short and left the back...

During my limited time, I don't remember seeing a single one!But do they have skyways?16th Street Mall. I've got to say, it blows Nicollet Mall out of the water in almost every way. It's got active street frontages for most of its length.

Re: Denver
Just got back from Denver. I was stuck in their convention center the whole time, so I didn't get a whole lot of chances to explore the city. But from what I saw, the standout feature was the 16th Street Mall. I've got to say, it blows Nicollet Mall out of the water in almost every way. It's got act...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Which is the same approximate timeframe as the Hennepin Ave aBRT, right? Maybe we can have that extend all the way to the U and cut the 6 off to be just its current southern portion. It does line up with the reconstruction of Hennepin in Downtown, which is when I would guess MT would want to implem...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
The 4 and 17 are also really close to HFN standards. That being said, the HFN isn't well branded (no maps at bus stops, etc), so there probably isn't much interest from MT for expanding the network. Secondly, branding routes under HFN means it's less feasible for cuts that reduce service to non-HFN...

As a DMNA volunteer, I can say that's not true. It's just post-hoc justification. Members likely knew that this exact proposal was going to come out and wanted to set up the RFP to exclude practically everything else.

A NexTrip pylon was installed at 7th St & Nicollet Mall in Downtown. I assume they'll install them at the other pilot stations as well (7th St & Hennepin and two at Olson & 7th St N).

I'm here now and it seems like they have it figured out. It's a pretty quick process to get in and wander through the stadium. And they don't herd you anywhere.
