Hi, clf! That's a pretty serious accusation against John without any sort of evidence to back it up.
And please, show me where CM Bender makes similar posts online that blame the African people for the chattel slavery they endured.

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017
Cano is an opportunist. Her support for Frey for mayor and lack of support for Flisrand for council (read: support for Goodman) speaks to the huge disparity between her Facebook politicking and her actual strategy. Given, this is also an individual who has not passed a single piece of legislation an...

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017
Betsy did not propose WFA. She had to be dragged kicking and screaming to give it begrudging support and even then, fair scheduling was off the table for her. I don't give her credit here, I credit the workers. This is not a correct assessment of Betsy's support for WFA at all. Fair Scheduling fail...

Re: Minneapolis City Politics General Discussion
There is no indication on the ballot which candidate was endorsed by the DFL. Each candidate gets to select the three words next to their name - most people end up writing Democratic Farmer Labor.

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018
As a nice counterpoint to Lori Sturdevant's article, Barb Johnson has been using her campaign funds to pay for her haircuts, dry cleaning, cable, internet, and newspaper subscriptions and there hasn't been much of an outcry over that or any political ramifications. http://www.wedgelive.com/2015/07/b...

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017
Way too small of capacity for the *first* mayoral forum, with no future events even scheduled yet. If this were the 3rd or 4th event to occur, it would probably be fine. Even though it's primarily intended to be for Ward 10 residents, I don't think that's how it's going to play out. I don't mean to...

First Mayoral Forum on Wednesday, March 8. Hopefully we'll be able to get actual policy positions from the candidates as opposed to soft Facebook posts.

Re: Minnesota Representation at the Federal Level
My one real experience with Torres Ray was that she was invited to a CNO Board Meeting and put the wrong date on her calendar and instead came to our Land Use Meeting and just sat through the whole thing slightly confused. She was a few minutes late so she didn't hear the call to order of the Land ...

Tom Hoch is "exploring" a run for mayor. I'd imagine his candidacy would only pull support away from Frey - something that'd probably only matter in terms of the DFL endorsement process.

Some real choice quotes from the conservative wing of the council. Palmisano's quotes are especially laughable.

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018
She wants executive experience and that's what the governor's mansion would give her. Either way, she'll have just gotten (re)elected in 2018 and then need to immediately start campaigning. But as for our state, I think Klobuchar probably provides us with the best chance of retaining the executive b...

Re: Minneapolis City Politics General Discussion
For the record, I think Cano's latest email was stupid and juvenile. But I'm surprised that no-one seems at all bothered by the fact that Barb Johnson is waging a shadow campaign against her in the press which--gasp--itself involves leaking private city emails. FWIW emails between council members a...

Re: Zoning in Minneapolis
The Council has to get rid of those residential density requirements for R3 and R4. Schiff managed to eliminate them for R5 and R6 as a last hurrah before leaving the Council but kept them for R3 (1,500sqft/DU) and R4 (1,50sqft/DU). I can think of one surface parking lot in East Calhoun that'll be v...

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
So a fair amount of construction is underway right now, but you're right that the pipeline looks pretty dry after that. I can't think of a single residential proposal that has been floated, proposed, approved, etc. that is not already under construction. You're forgetting about Gerberding's 26th an...
