Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Is there any chance of adding trips on weekdays? I'm thinking one more reverse commute trip in the morning and then going back southbound half an hour or an hour after the fifth southbound trip (7:48 or 8:18 a.m.), and then a second reverse commute in the evening which would go back to Big Lake as t...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)
Try the Green Line in Boston and your ears will be bleeding.
If you're sitting in the middle of the light rail car that's where the noise is worst. At first the noise can be a little annoying but after awhile you get used to it. A number of times I nearly fell asleep on the train.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Also, Maple Grove is planning to redevelop the quarries into medium and high density housing. I'm so thankful we're running Bottineau LRT up a walk-hostile road, rather than arcing it through this new development on its way to walkable Osseo. Maple Grove didn't want the Blue Line extension so it wa...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Lots of shops and restaurants so there is a reason to go there, plus plenty of jobs and numerous apartments have gone up in recent years.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
It amazes me how there isn't even one local bus route to Maple Grove, specifically the Arbor Lakes Shopping Area. I would think it could sustain an hourly service from Brooklyn Center Transit Center.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
How many lawsuits are there against Southwest? The only one I can think of is the Lakes and Parks Alliance, but why is that going to trial in September 2017? What are the chances that they win the lawsuit?

Re: A Line - Arterial Rapid Bus
I took the A Line to the State Fair on Thursday and Sunday. Thursday I was waiting at the 46th Street Station, a bus approached and the driver said the next bus will be in service. The next bus comes and we get on, and just as we were leaving a third A Line bus is behind us and honks the horn and we...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
This won't actually happen (though I wish it did), Thursday would be the time for Metro Transit to seriously consider 4-5 car consists. Open the doors of the first 3 cars and once those are packed move the train up to the last car(s) and repeat. I believe they did this with the Northstar Line runnin...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
If there was ever a chance I would vote for the GOP it's gone now. Clearly they don't want light rail, but most of them seem to also have no problem cutting transit funding in general. I sincerely hope that Dayton and the Met Council figure out a way to fund this. I don't want to be an old man when ...

Here is a study I did of the Dan Patch Corridor-https://www.dropbox.com/s/d7rgaioos6a0f ... y.pdf?dl=0
Feedback welcome. Just try not to be too hard on me since I did this with limited resources and everything in there is to the best of my knowledge.

Re: Suburban Transit (Opt-out Services Providers)
On the map it shows the Blue Line as Route 55. I really hope the pocket schedule/maps don't have it like that or people will definitely get confused. I'm hoping this is successful but I won't get my hopes up. The Mall of America has good transit connections to various destinations and many jobs near...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
That is proposed under Metro Transit's Service Improvement Plan. I think, and I hope, it's a near term implementation.I really wish they could up the frequency of the 6U up to 15 minute frequencies during the school year. Could help out a lot of students up here.

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
Whatever happens to the Orange Line the South Bloomington Transit Center needs to change. Parking capacity is near full or completely full on most weekdays. If the Orange Line is shortened to South Bloomington it would be nice to have a local MVTA service between Burnsville and South Bloomington wit...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
This pisses me off -- I'm so sick and tired of the political "gridlock" (more like cock block) in this region and nationally halting progress, particularly with transit. We really are falling way behind the rest of our growing, progressive "peer" cities. I mean $50-something BIL...

MVTA will begin Route 495, an express route between Shakopee and Mall of America via Burnsville, in August. Also includes stops near the Amazon.com facility. http://www.startribune.com/mvta-tests-bus-route-between-shakopee-mall-of-america/386091001/ Not sure what roads it will use. I'm surprised thi...
