Re: George Floyd murder and aftermath

Anybody have any idea what the city's best course of action is to have a home for the Third Precinct? During the Council meeting yesterday the Council was told they were back to square one and may have to place the station outside of the Precinct. With the new city office building being built can th...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

If they had wanted to they could have built a new campus on their current site, but went the easier route of leasing space throughout the country. Are Downtown locations and leases more flexible and therefore advantageous than these Corporate Campuses when an employer wants to look for something new...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

Sounds like Deluxe is consolidating their spaces. They have 80 across the country. Seems like when people consolidate space, and have workers doing a hybrid strategy high quality spaces in Downtown areas may be appealing.

If they made the Fieldhouse more open to the public it'll be pretty popular with our rather large the running community. Much better place to run than US Bank Stadium. Twin Cities in Motion also uses it for kids event. I also might be biased given how hard it is to find a track let alone an indoor o...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood

If you live in this neighborhood, ask for the specifics of the proposal. The details matter here. My neighborhood stopped the County from putting an emergency shelter in our neighborhood. There were various reasons for this, but one of the biggest concerns was that it didn't come with the funding to...

I think this is the best looking residential tower in the area. All of new towers on that end of Nicollet severely lack imagination.

Why is the city rushing the RFP for the Public Service Building now? Didn't they put one out a bit ago and got crummy responses? Do they need the $$ because of the new building?

When would anything actually happen on this? Wouldn't there have to be new alignment studies and etc? Seems to me we're years from most everything and the economic and political landscape could change in any number of ways before then.

I wouldn't heed much attention to their opinions until after the 2021 election unless there is going to be some sort of meaningful impact from them between now and then. Rumor has it Ellison isn't running again and the Wards will look different after the Census.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium

Anyone know when the work is going to be done on this? At this point I'm thinking they better start putting it back together soon or they will be missing more than fans at their stadium. I should have taken a picture. They have several layers removed from the exterior and seem to be actually trying ...

It's kinda of hard to imagine this area had a car dealership seemingly not terribly long ago? Okay maybe it has been awhile and I'm finally getting old. Anyhow far lots and a dealership to towers is a huge change. North Loop and the Mill District have seen change, but this is something else.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I got confused when I rode this for the first time a couple weeks ago and went down the hill in the wrong lane not realizing it's road rules with the yellow. I guess I thought that area was for the walkers. I also remember I started to read the sign, but was quickly past it. Better markings might be...

The Community I live in is trying to stop a woman's shelter at the Gordon Center at Willard Park. Part of the objection is the local zoning of being in a residential area without the commercial zones near other shelters. https://lims.minneapolismn.gov/Download/RCA/11424/Gordon%20Center%20Interim%20U...

Anyone else think someone thought it was neat to see the Wellington Project go up in flames and did a copycat of some sort on this? Arsonists are somewhat twisted. (I happen to be reading, "The Library Book," by Susan Orleans about the LA Library fire.)

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Dowling might be a possibility, run it from Lyndale to 38th in Robbinsdale and have it do a short jaunt near the lake to Bottineau Blvd. A huge chunk of the road is bordered by a cemetery. I'm sure people in Robbinsdale would scream about it going Lake Terrace Park however. This would also be a nice...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Notably, you can't put it up Penn Ave to W. Broadway without having the potential of stopping LRT service if emergency vehicles are servicing a residence. I also don't see how a cost-benefit analysis would allow for a subway tunnel, unless you constructed it under a prexisting street so it can be co...

Should be at least spray painted orange or something. I'm not sure all cyclists would recognize the danger though. Could use some chicken wire.
