Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image

The difference between MN and WI is interesting. There's been some interesting comparison between the states as they have diverged over the past decade or two.

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp

Gonna go ahead and call this a loss of quasi public space. Families take their kids there a lot to just have a wide open flat space to ride their bikes and such. I'd be fine with a building going here, with park space behind, but a security fence? The Fed better reverse this stuff once they have ne...

Can anyone bring context for the Environmental Review (AUAR) ? It is scheduled to be completed after the Council votes on the draft plan. It was scheduled by the Collaborative Planning Committee I believe.

Re: Upper Harbor Terminal

Some activists are trying to turn it into a George Floyd Square like area with only BiPOC and ADOS having control and benefiting from it. You know you're allowed to visit and benefit from George Floyd Square? Let's maybe not go full talk radio and compare it to a "no go zone" I should elaborate amo...

This is open for comment until 1/15. The debate about the site has gotten testier. Some activists are trying to turn it into a George Floyd Square like area with only BiPOC and ADOS having control and benefiting from it. The activists appear to be using the Environmental Review as means to try and g...

Re: Crime

I think he had a purpose to the shots to divert the PD. He doesn't look like a reveler. For some reason we've had a number of instances of people shooting air rifles. The shot-spotters seems to pick them up. Do the shotspotters have cameras? Honestly, the most effective way to catch shots fired and ...

I graduated from St Francis High School. A bit of context. (Added a map, the intersection is circled in red.) 1st Bridge Street the main drag through town had two stoplights removed on either side of the High School replaced with roundabouts. I think people are tired of them. Driving through town fe...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

This would be a great addition to the skyway system to have a skyway from Nicollet to the ATT building. It helps create a more cohesive network. You don't have to walk all the way down to...what the IDS? (Haven't been in the skyway for awhile.) This also shows the benefit of that location given it's...

Truthfully, I've never cared for the Dolphin building..we have other buildings nearby of greater significance and representative of city history. The biggest one being the Post Office shall it ever get redeveloped. This tower also has so much going for it.

It's nice to see things balance out. RBC-->Gateway, Byron--> RBC and US Bank filling the rest. An aside, I used to work for CliftonLarsonAllen and they have been grabbing floors in US Bank Plaza over the past years competing with US Bank who also was grabbing floors. With Fredrickson and Byron leavi...

The County is replacing the bridges on W, Broadway between Mpls and Robbinsdale. This includes redoing the local and Grand Rounds trails and intersection beneath the bridges. I am very thankful they got rid of those ramp/ turn lanes that are separate from the intersection with only a yield sign. Car...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Not sure if it impacts this project, but the County has started rerouting traffic to begin replacing the W. Broadway Bridges from Mpls to Robbinsdale. Given that LRT would have to pass through here, I'm surprised no considerations were given to future LRT. Would they simply modify or build a new LRT...

I would wait to make judgments until we get more information. The updated principles call the minimize and maximize conflicting goals. Where they see the compromise at is key.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

I like this design much better than what currently exists, but I have to agree with DanPatchToget...why the two-way bikeway? I'd much rather have a protected lane on each side, and this forces a "to continue, please wait to cross this intersection and then wait again" where two-way bikeways run int...

Re: Rochester

Are there any other small cities in America that Rochester can learn from as they gain density? Seems like many cities of this size were industry dependent in the past and have since lost their industry and are left with aging buildings and infrastructure. Rochester has escaped that.

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been a bigger push for the Lowry line based on equity and investing in the Northside. Moving forward North MPLS is going to have great connections going N/S yet limited E/W at least with LRT/BRT/aBRT. I would also like to think that somehow state/county/city lead...

Maybe they can make the parking more like the Broadway Pizza proposal? Is mixed use possible? This would be a nice place to live along the river. The parking moat is terrible.
