Re: Minneapolis Public Schools
Yeah, I don't see a reason why Minneapolis Public Schools shouldn't be under state direction. Consistent mismanagement by unserious people paired with an irrational electorate that doesn't want solutions. This isn't a Minneapolis-only problem, but it is exacerbated there by years of bad charter ...

Re: Minneapolis Public Schools
Is there an amount of bad job that the school district could do that would result in negative electoral consequences for the school board? The experience of basically every big city school district over the past fifty years suggests that there is not really a bottom.
The school board is ...

Can someone explain to me why they are doing this. It seems like something the school district should not be investing time and money in given their current enrollment and financial situation. But I am not apart of the community that wants this school so I may be missing something.
I think ...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
And there's probably not an ideal way to do it given the major freeway interchange and ramp traffic at 35W/Washington. Maybe a bike bridge could be built next to the flyover for 35W to 3rd St, allowing easy biking from Hiawatha LRT bike trail behind Sherwin Williams across 35W to the 3rd St ...

What is the point of the bikeway? It would have been better to make improvement's on Bryant. The stoplights and intersection on Lyndale are too busy. Folks aren't going to see you on the bikeway. It's like riding on a sidewalk. The drivers are trying to pull out of Aldis in the middle of a busy ...

The center includes space for BCR and Neighborhood Safety which are alternatives to MPD. Consolidating all these departments in a space which need to work together seems to further the goal to diversify our 1st responders responses. Additionally, it appears this was a recommendation of a Human ...

Hopefully, they can convert them to housing. One idea would be to take the inner part of each unit and make it a storage space for each unit. New homes have so much more storage than space than 30 years ago. Folks are used to filling up garages and large closets.

The GAF facility between UHT and Lowry is closing. Some employees were saying the city wanted them out for UHT parking lot. But, I don't see this parcel as part of the plan. I'm guessing it will be sold for housing or etc?

I think part of it has to do with online sales including bikes. Accessories are so much easier to buy online. Helmets and specific bike parts/upgrades during a maintenance are still items I buy in bike shops. But, I'm not buying lights or locks unless I need them right away.

Cautiously optimistic that they've realized that Lyndale Ave doesn't need bike paths because they'd be redundant with the Bryant Ave facilities, and are therefore prioritizing other users in the limited available ROW.
