Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Are they doing anything with what I presume is a historic station along the Cedar Lake Trail just before I think 394 and where the trail splits? It's coated in graffiti now.

Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'

Why do people on here always have to be so negative or make such snarky comments I'm so sorry you were offended . Truth is truth. Adults accept that. You guys are all a bunch of passive aggressive fuck wads. Was wondering why I even continued to bother following this site. Glad I no longer live in ...

Re: Minneapolis 2021 Elections - Mayor, City Council, BET, Park Board

Personally, I feel like there's a long way to go an a good level of uncertainty. We'll get a better picture after each month passes. The Defunders were better organized with the delegates, it'll be interesting to see if their organization can get out actual voters as well in the General.

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

I glanced at the maps, there is no way to route this around Robbinsdale. Maybe Broadway to Penn to Brooklyn Blvd to Bottineau? I have to say given the drastic changes and risks N Mpls faces from this through construction, it's insulting that Robbinsdale is afraid their car-centric strip-mall commerc...

Re: The Dayton's Project

This speaks of larger issues we have as a city and how they're spilling over into other areas. The Mayor and Council need to get on the same page and start governing and stewarding this city. "As of January this year, two prospective tenants have backed out of lease commitments, citing continued civ...

Be great if some sort of density could include industrial jobs as well somehow. I like density and housing and offices, but these places also have good jobs. Metal Matic Inc also has a large space near the river, unlike Graco theirs is a bit rundown.

Our image isn't going to recover for awhile I don't remember if this was posted on here. The tourism agency seems worried as well.

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

Nothing surprising or wrong-seeming to me so far. Adding North Memorial is a no-brainer and they had clearly committed to it a while ago. Broadway is superior to Lowry, not just because it is more direct, but because it has more activity. The tougher decisions are still to come. Putting aside the g...

Re: Ideas / Wish List for Mpls in 2021

Better yet, there ought to be an official app for the skyway system that includes a map like that, plus a directory of all current retail/restaurant businesses and their hours of operation. Anyone have Steve Cramer’s number? Because the Downtown Council / DID should absolutely spend their money on ...

Re: Target Center Renovation

I will happily argue that there is no legitimate public value in a billion dollar publicly subsidized pro sports stadium at the intersection of our $5 billion+ rail system, but that's not why I called it that. Even though taxpayers aren't paying for this part, the fact that it's had to be re-skinne...

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

At the Ward 5 Candidate Forum yesterday most everyone was tepid about the BLRT. One of the candidates compared it to 94 in Rondo though. I'm not 100% sure who it was and I don't want to spread rumors. If I can find a story somewhere I'll share it. Overall, they better do a good job at engagement and...

Re: Target Center Renovation

When thinking of putting in a tower, I think of like City Center or IDS with their large bases. The base would be the arena and then the tower would be above and perhaps even a separate building engineering wise. Then you could modify or even tear down the arena and still have the tower. I really wa...

Re: Target Center Renovation

Now that it is sold...how about tear it down, build arena with 1000' tower on top and extend Target Plaza across 394 to the new building...or build a new stadium and cap 394 with a mixed use building... I get what you're saying but the arena wasn't sold, just the main lessee as the arena is still o...

Re: Highway Transitway Corridor Study

First, I wish they would remove some lanes from 94 in Mpls and narrow the trench. Second, it should go to Northtown since there are less transit options there. The 10 bus and 852 are the main routes relating to this corridor. (The 25 is farther east and others have super limited service.)

Re: North Loop Green - Hines - 350 N 5th St(?) - 35 stories - 393'/418'

Is this still going? All the city docs posted in the thread are to dead ends. The links are dead because the city did a big website overhaul recently and in the process they broke a ton of links. As to whether or not this project is dead, I don't know. Hines is not a fly-by-night developer. They've...
