Re: Lowa46 - 46th & Hiawatha Cub Foods Mixed Use
There's a little more info on the restaurant website , including the proposed opening date of late summer or early fall 2020, and a note that construction on the 46th St to Minnehaha Parkway section of the bike trail is also planned for summer 2020. I can all but officially announce that the restau...

Behavioral aspect of commuting
Hello all! I'm not sure if this is the ideal forum for this topic which addresses the behavioral aspect of commuting (and how to change people's behavior) but I ran across this article and figured it would be of interest to many of you - enjoy! Harvard Business Review Why It’s So Hard to Change Peop...

The Heather Worthington's opinion piece about the 2040 Plan in Minnpost today has triggered the sensibilities of the old, white, male, NOT RACIST!!! members of the forum that shall not be named . Re: MN46 (Minnehaha & 46th)
The hideous building that had been there is demolished. I have to say I'm pretty optimistic about this project - I like the micro apartment concept a lot given increasing rents, and more retail in the neighborhood sounds good to me!

I've chosen to avoid participation a certain local forum that shall not be named due to the Huckabee-level reek of mendacity that reigns there, but it's almost as if this City Lab article was written specifically for them: https://www.citylab.com/equity/2019/06/why-housing-policy-feels-like-generati...

Re: Hi-Lake - Minnehaha Mall (Target/Cub) - Downtown Longfellow
Well, one step that seems really obvious would be to put a menu on their website. I know, farm to fork/changing menu and all that, but similar places manage to do it, so they should too. Kind of sucks that they're stuck with the "Diner" part of the name due to the sign -- I thought they w...

Re: State law: Drivers must stop for crossing pedestrians at marked crosswalks and at all intersections without crosswal
What would happen if a significant police presence were occasionally...present...solely to ticket this infraction? I suspect that would give the law some visibility. I believe St. Paul does this every year at strategic intersections. I know they did at one of the intersections downtown near Rice Pa...

State law: Drivers must stop for crossing pedestrians at marked crosswalks and at all intersections without crosswalks
Have you ever tried to follow this state law? I have. In fact, I've been especially diligent in the past several months. Here's what I have experienced: [*]I'm quite alone following this law. Drivers behind me get confused and angry at me for stopping for pedestrians [*]Pedestrians get angry with me...

Re: Lowa46 - 46th & Hiawatha Cub Foods Mixed Use
So...given the 'For Lease' sign on the remaining ground floor space, I gather this has been definitively cancelled...but I can't find any mention of this after early 2018. Does anyone know what happened to Chef Eric Harcey's plan to open a restaurant in what was at that time called the Capp? https:/...

Re: What's Your Take On Minneapolis E-Democracy?
She practices a shockingly slimy brand of politics and her specialty is wrapping the wishes of middle-age (and older) white property owners (all of which I fit into demographically) in progressive language. Basically, if you disagree with her you are developer-funded astroturf and should be investig...

Re: What's Your Take On Minneapolis E-Democracy?
I agree...I don't think there's really much similarity between the streets.mn forum and Mpls E-Democracy. I think the latter is what it is due to the very special and unique people there that make it that way.

What's Your Take On Minneapolis E-Democracy?
Hey all- I believe I've seen a couple comments by more than a few regular contributors/posters here regarding the Minneapolis E-Democracy forum indicating it is not a safe neighborhood for sane minds to walk in even during the light of day. Not being able to resist gawking at a really good car wreck...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
Mndible keeps saying "elected officials" but it's not the elected officials that hired a PR team it's planning staff. If in fact it was bureaucrats who hired the PR firm without approval from elected officials, that's not better -- it's much much worse. I don't automatically agree that th...
