Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

I do believe Hennepin County hasn’t refused to use the cost-overage money, that was just proposed by the Met Council this past Wednesday as a solution to filling the gap.

Re: Suburban Malls and Associated Retail News

Yeah, it's only like a 10-12 min walk to the mall from the LRT station and there are sidewalks for the entirety of that walk.

This is beyond disappointing. The developer broke the agreement with the city and tore down the Knutson Building and left it as a parking lot for years.

I'm looking forward to visiting for the first time as soon as that train gets going :)

I described it in probably the least flattering way possible in that post but it is a nice mall, worth spending some time in. It feels more occupied than the numbers look. Absolute pain to walk or bike to ...

Speaking of Nicollet Mall... It seems like the city has been pretty quiet about whether or not the Mayor's pet project of removing buses is going forward or not.

Annoying that even after the addition of North Loop Green, you still can't legally cross 5th St at the LRT platform: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZAZbHF4YDeQ23GiR6

In recent years, the city has been much more open to the idea of raised crosswalks and signalized crossings, etc. in locations where they ...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT

Even the Star Tribune commenters are wondering why we didn't build the train through Uptown; I hate to agree with them, but they're right. I imagine in an alternate universe where we did do that, they'd wonder why we didn't build in in the Kenilworth corridor.

Hopefully the 2050 plan includes ...

KSTP has the scoop on the updated Blue Line Extension schedule and budget estimates as of 90% design. This latest projection has construction starting in 2027 (perhaps optimistic given the current administration's reluctance to award transit funding), opening day delayed from 2030 to 2033, and ...

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

Nils, it’s ridiculous to choose a routing that would have bypassed the more transit dependent parts of North Minneapolis.

I will take a slightly longer travel time to serve the people who need it most.

Also, at this point this conversation is just going in circles. A mode and routing has been ...

Ok, Metro Transit performance page has been updated and January data is... not good, to say the least (for obvious reasons). Since I haven't done this in a few months, I'm covering both December and January.
