Even on Sunday after the opening festivities, there were a good number of folks out trying out the line for the first time. I was working at Rice Park Station helping folks, and lots of enthusiastic people!

This is open now as of 3/11/25. They are open til 2am on weekends, and are planning on expanding that to all days of the week.

Note that it passed the Republican-controlled Transportation Finance and Policy committee on a party-line vote, not the actual (tied) House.

I hope someday once again the train will be safe enough for me to take my kids on a ride. They'd love it. I used transit all the time in the Before [2020] Times, and a few times since. At this point I'm not comfortable taking my family on the train.

A transit station tied in to the Lindau pedestrian overpass would have been the obvious choice, but I don't think MoA is/was very interested in prioritizing transit. I think they prefer it to be tucked away out of sight.

Well the Orange Line did 1600 to 2000 daily average rides on weekdays in 2024. I'm going to take a guess of 1750 weekday average rides.

As far as I'm aware, the FFGA from the FTA specifies that the Gold Line will run 10 mins most of the day, so Metro Transit has to abide by that or the FTA will ask for their funding back.
