Ehhh, we would just run across the street from US bank over to RSM and hop back on Skyway over there. We made it work for the temporary inconvenience.Yah it made you have to walk on Nicollet Mall *shudders*

Wedge-live guy seems kinda grumpy they didn't go ahead with the condos for millionaires. I am no where near millionaire but would rather look at a millionaire condo building raising my property value then crappy developments. I'm two blocks from this site and would love to see something grand, eleg...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
Ugh, sad that they finally get a connection after I no longer work there. Every winter I was so jealous of the sky-way connected buildings.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Rojo, Randals, and Ling and Louie's were NEVER amazing restaurants. Overpriced for the quality of food. I think the place tried to re-brand but with (I think) same ownership and often the same or similar staff. I think it needs a fresh concept and crew.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
I would agree, as a 5 year resident of MN I have lacked any urge to go to St. Paul except for a couple events. I was told, if you want to go to bed early go to St. Paul and if you wanna stay and play go to Minneapolis.

The way I see most of it is that winter will be coming and we will have a few months or quietness for the most part. I'm sure NY wasn't too quiet during there booms of development.

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'
Have been living downtown for about 4 years almost and I still love the skyway access and getting around in the winter without the need of winter clothes.

Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland
Skyways. So very last century? Not from MN originally but I tend to like the skyways and use them more than not. A native bachelor farmer wouldn’t use them. [emoji6] But pulling on your parka and mittens to walk four frozen blocks is definitely from the century before that. As are wider sidewalks, ...

Re: Ironclad Apartments & Moxy Hotel - Washington & Chicago
I share an appreciation for the ~urban feel~ of a street between 12 story buildings. But also, winter days here are short. My last place was just north of the freeway and I really enjoyed a dose of sun as I walked home from the bus in the evening. My perception from looking at shading diagrams is t...

Re: RE: Re: United Properties / Four Seasons
Two other things I noticed was that RBC wants a sign at the top of the building facing downtown, I'm pretty sure there is an ordinance against that. That's the first thing I noticed. I hope the city doesn't allow a variance to the sign ordinance. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk Why not allow...

Re: City Club Apartments - 1000 Marquette Ave (Handicraft Building)
Correct, they reviewed it and rejected it. Which is more a reflection of the toothlessness of our historic protection laws. They seem to be focused on noteworthy events or connections to important figures and miss the fact that there are so few old commercial buildings left downtown that they shoul...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
A couple weeks ago a friend was having a birthday party at the gay 90's, and my partner and I ate elsewhere downtown beforehand. We tried using the skyways to get most of the way there to the lumber exchange (?) (according to a random skyway map we found), but part of it was closed so we couldn't m...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
Seriously, the Minneapolis skyway system is so confusing. I've had numerous people in Seattle tell me that they visited and hated them as they couldn't figure out how to navigate them but felt obligated as many of their destinations were off of the skyways. Treating them as numbered/colored routes ...
