Re: Metro Transit Heywood II Bus Garage - North Loop

The tunnel is pretty cool they actually used whole trees bark and all as the piles to support the tunnel, they should be exposing the rest of the tunnel over the next month . The site is also been full of all sorts of glass jars going back to the late 1800s early 1900s which is pretty cool. Also the...

Re: Cambria / Fairfield Hotels - 41 10th Street N (former Ramada block)

It appears they have stopped work on this site for a couple months now. A few footings were formed out but never poured and the rest is just empty holes. Anyone know if this got canceled or put on pause?

They also found it will seat more people as people are more likely to sit next to each other and it increased the crush capacity for times like after sporting events

only thing I could see with the going taller is that the greenway has some setback requirements as you go higher now but I don't know if it would apply to this site

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

Maybe Ackerberg can sell the vacant lot in front of the parking ramp, and focus instead of redeveloping one or two pieces of the site with more intense use
This whole mall, parking ramp and vacant lot are actually all for sale right now

Re: Dinkytower - McDonalds redevelopment

I’d be (half) shocked if McDonalds just straight up walked away from this lucrative market. Like, they could totally open a location in the former CVS spot kitty corner from here. But they won’t, because no drive thru, in MN. If they won’t bother to open one downtown, it probably won’t meet corpora...

looks like the demolition of the building is starting soon. Fencing was going up to day and delivery of a large demolition excavator.

Re: Hennepin Avenue (Franklin to 36th)

I know the construction is pretty much finished now but how area between lake at 31st end up so barren? kind of surprised that they didn't add anything like storm water pavers to add some variety. I'll repeat my earlier criticism that the Lake to 31st block absolutely needs to have have pull-off bay...

Remnants of the Nicollet Hotel's basement are currently exposed on site, for anyone interested in looking.
Sounds pretty cool do you know where to go to get the best look at this?

Addressing the office being reassigned the exact same thing happened with the southwest project office staff as well. There are other large Metro transit projects that need support and the staff can be used to support the departments. When the project picks up again they are just all called back.

Re: Vicinity - 205 Park Avenue (Mill District Ramp Parcel)

Doesn't sound like they want it sounds like they already signed a 5 years lease to a company. Seeing as this was a this was a parcel of Minneapolis owned land this is pretty dumb. We are already short on housing and now we are giving a huge chunk of that to short term rentals. 24ish of the remaining...

Broadway NE (County Highway 66) open house coming up soon; May 14 at Able. https://www.hennepin.us/broadwaystreet reading through some of the meeting minutes and it seems like they are really considering the 4 to 3 conversion. it even got an exclamation mark in the minutes. Sounds like it is more l...

Just wondering if anyone knows what they are doing along 35w north of 4th st se and the pedestrian bridge. They have both sides of the highway embankment torn up and it almost looks like they are putting in a new footing for something.

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N

Not to change the topic but this references the T3 building and some of the renderings have wooden columns. Anyone know if this will be all wooden construction? T3 paved the way for that as it was the first mass timber building over 5 stories in the country at 7 stories. That building has an awesome...
