Re: 420 E Hennepin Ave

My random guess is that Solhem might not wanted to have taken on the risk of the large commercial space right now so they packaged it up and worked to sell it for close to 2 million more than they bought it for and will move on to something else. It would explain the increased sale price if it inclu...

The preito building is actually up for sale right now for a cool 1.95 million. There are 3 apartments in the upstairs which I didn't know existed always thought it was office space

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics

420 East Hennepin would make sense I pretty sure there was an apartment building taking up the top triangle area of that block that got approved not to long ago

Kinda interesting too as Metro Transit did a sort of test of this with the C line stop at HWY 55 and N 7th St

Re: Suburban Transit (Opt-out Services Providers)

Personally I think at the very least it would be nice to have the opt-out brought under one branding umbrella of Metro Transit. This would for suburban customers to become familiar with the brand and hopefully have a better view of the system as a whole. Metro transit even operates and maintains all...

Allina | Abbott Northwestern Hospital Campus

Allina is building a new parking ramp up against the green way along chicago ave. The idea is to apparently make it easier for workers to bike to work and is part of a plan to reduce their single occupancy vehicles by 10% by 2026. https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2021/02/05/allina-parking...

Re: Suburban Transit (Opt-out Services Providers)

I may be wrong but it really sounds like both MVTA and Southwest are not huge fans of the Met Council or Metro transit which seems weird to me as they are trying to serve the same goal. Reading about the merge it seems like they really do want to hold off a potential of the legislature forcing a mer...

Re: Fantasy maps

Any chance that the map edit give you the distances of the lines? It would be fun to use historical cost per mile for the different modes to see what something like this would run

Ryan Companies Instagram stories are saying the tower cranes are topped out now at 624' 6.5" and 590' 3.5". They say they are the tallest cranes the City has seen since 1992

Changing of topic but the closed CVS on Hennepin appears to be operating as a CVS branded Covid testing site. Considering it topped by a parking ramp and near transit this would probably also make a really good vaccination site as it a large open space.

Re: Root District - Farmers Market / Royalston Station

It strangely looks like Minneapolis has fenced off and is using an area under the I94 viaduct as overflow for the impound lot. I wonder if this is just for while the impound lot is under construction or a long term issue with them getting rid of some of the land of the impound lot for development.

You can do as much as you want it just costs more and takes more time with snow clearing, frost ripping, heating the concrete etc. They are still working on the bridge in the Glenwood area and at excelsior boulevard as far as I know. Looking at those photos though I would bet that this wont be ready...

The tunnel is pretty cool they actually used whole trees bark and all as the piles to support the tunnel, they should be exposing the rest of the tunnel over the next month . The site is also been full of all sorts of glass jars going back to the late 1800s early 1900s which is pretty cool. Also the...
