Re: North Loop Neighborhood

From what i remember when the bus garage had the tunnel cut open I think the tunnel is just already lower than 94 at that point. The tunnel was probably like 15 feet below grade at the bus garage site

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)

I think the more likely scenario we see is the city cutting up concrete to open up parking for vehicles while leaving the bike lane unprotected on street level. This is what I hope doesn't happen. I do think there should almost always be short term spots that allow for deliveries and pick up but if...

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)

I never understand the people that have the courage to parallel park on hennepin or lyndale. I always just prefer to park on the side streets and walk.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)

was reading this biz article about this project and at the end it randomly has a quote from a city project manager saying the lake to 36th street design "has not worked well". Then is says the city plans to return parking to the heart of uptown this spring. Anyone know anything about this? Unlocked ...

Interesting video of how Edmonton is pushing ahead with electrifying their fleet.

https://www.edmonton.ca/projects_plans/ ... buses.aspx

Even being the very far north they say the buses can run every one of their routes all year round.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

Well 1m sq. feet of office space can now be filled by...something. Maybe we'll see more creative re-use of this space like we've seen before with more AirBnB/investor apartments. In the meantime I'd tap the breaks on the grand mass-transit plans because this won't be the only large downtown company...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

One of the big problems right now it seems is that to ensure reliable service ever diesel bus needs to be replaced by 2 electric buses. Considering most of Metro Transits garages are over capacity already it might just be a space issue. MT operates just over 900 buses and that is growing with every ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics

Unfortunately they already have almost entirely empty buildings up in Brooklyn Park. It also sounds like they will be giving some of their employees the option of permanent remote work. They do occupy a large chunk of the city center building so if anything they might be leaning towards abandoning t...

Re: 420 E Hennepin Ave

My random guess is that Solhem might not wanted to have taken on the risk of the large commercial space right now so they packaged it up and worked to sell it for close to 2 million more than they bought it for and will move on to something else. It would explain the increased sale price if it inclu...
