Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
How modest? Can the building be replaced with a taller one that takes up all of the lot? Here's a pdf describing the design details that should be followed within this historic district: https://www.minneapolismn.gov/media/-www-content-assets/documents/Harmon-Place-District-Design-Guidelines.pdf Hav...

Re: New Third Precinct Station
I’d like to see smaller, more public, sub-stations being considered. After the consent decrees we know we have a serious cultural problem within the PD. Why repeat the model of large precinct buildings that effectively create a fortress within the neighborhood? Dr. Cedric Alexander stated that the p...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Which bus routes will be included in the free fare pilot? The Transportation finance and policy bill includes “sec. 122 TRANSIT FARE ELIMINATION PILOT PROGRAM” where the metropolitan council must select two bus routes to include in a free fare pilot. The pilot will run from July 1st 2023 to the end ...

Re: Minneapolis Street Design
I feel the plowing has gotten worse, possibly we’re not ticketing and towing as consistently. Outside of my office I watched the road narrow over the winter as plows had to work around cars that didn’t move for snow emergencies. Maybe declare more snow emergencies and then clear the streets so that ...

Re: Minneapolis Street Design
I question that the recently designed lanes are “substandard”. Part of the problem is that our public works department is unable to plow from curb to curb. The drive lanes get narrower with every snowfall. We should not have to design streets around poor plowing.

Re: Nice Ride Minnesota
I use nice rides a few times a month and consider it a vital part of our transportation system. Sometimes I’ll walk to lunch and ride home or hop on a bike after getting off the light rail. I’ve hoped that the number of stations and bikes would continue to increase. I’ve also used similar bike share...

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
I would feel better about dynamic bus lanes if I believed the lanes would be dedicated to busses during hours of congestion and illegally parked car would be removed. Unfortunately, I believe that many arguing against dedicated bus lanes are not interested in the success of public transportation and...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
I'd prefer if the police could get out of their cars and interact with the public in a friendly, professional manner. I've recently witnessed a police officer, sitting in their idling car, yelling at pedestrians over their loudspeaker. Their is a difference between keeping the peace and acting like ...

Thanks. Those are all good points. While working from home, my summer electric bill has gone up about $15 a month.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
In the interest of reducing greenhouse gas emissions & traffic congestion shouldn’t we be happy to see more flexibility in telework schedules? Is there a future mix between DT office work, residents and entertainment that would create a better, more balanced downtown? Sent from my iPad using Tap...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Legally all sea food shipped in the united states has to be at least flash frozen so no where in Minnesota its getting never frozen sea food, that doesn't mean it isn't fresh or decent quality. I work in high end restaurants all fish comes in cardboard. I want to feel bad for you but your associati...
