Re: Upper Harbor Terminal
I'm happy to see that the developers and city are engaging with the community to ensure this development actually benefits them. That being said, this is without a doubt a great investment in an area of the city that desperately needs it - and would also benefit all Minneapolis residents. We have to...

Re: Not-TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N
I'm fine with it, I do think that we are thinking too short-term building 7-story buildings in the North Loop at this point. The area is definitely the most in demand and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Area could definitely support taller and more dense developments as we are slowly running...

In regards to the 2828 Girard project by Yellow Tree, the houses on that site have already been demolished. Looks like this is moving forward quickly?

Re: Lake and Fremont - 15 stories
If this area is really destined to have both aBRT on Lake Street and light-rail through the Midtown Greenway at some point in the future, it would only seem fitting for the heights of buildings in these areas to increase. Glad to see it though, another empty lot bites the dust (hopefully).

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
That Dunwoody bikeway would be a huge improvement for a section of the city that feels really uninviting for pedestrians/bicyclists, but has a lot of potential with the few small shops and the Basilica.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/01/stitch-fix-is-laying-off-1400-in-california-18percent-of-workforce.html Some potentially good news. Stitch Fix is planning to lay off 1400 employees to hire 2000 new ones in cheaper cities such as Dallas, Austin, & Minneapolis according to the article. The optimis...

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory
All I know is that I would like to keep some places to eat/drink along the park. If this gets developed into another condo building with no retail facing the park, I think we would be losing a lot of the character and life that Izzy's brought to Gold Medal Park. In a perfect world we'd have an ice c...

In regards to the 3rd Ave bridge redesign, any indication that they'll have those like observation cutouts for people to stop and take in the view like there are on that Franklin Ave bridge? I think that's a really nice touch to keep pedestrians from stopping in the middle of the bridge to get a vie...

There is a balance that needs to be found between effective social distancing to curtail this virus as fast as possible while still supporting these businesses in any way we can so they can stay open at a limited capacity. These businesses have lots of employees that will simply be laid off and be s...

North Loop has been doing a good job at spreading awareness, but for those of us who can afford it, it's our job to go patron these places during this time to help them get through this.

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
I think I'm in the minority here, but I just don't think buses do a great job at getting car owners out of their cars - if that's one of our larger goals. aBRT is great to increase bus ridership among existing bus riders, but rail in any form does a good job of luring people out of their cars or fro...

That would be great for the city they are making slow progress on this. This paired with the Midtown LRT would go a long way in making our train system functional for residents of the city to get to the places they want to go, not just commuters from the suburbs.

Kitchen Window also provides things that residents need on a somewhat regular basis. I visit there monthly to get stocked up on Nespresso pods and will occasionally buy other things. I think the point is valid - the area is transitioning to resident based uses. Of course some destination shopping co...

Put....in....a....BREWERY. Me and my buddies live in the area and spend many friday's in North Loop or NE to hit some breweries. We would be more than happy to stay near our apartments if Uptown put one in. This seems like a guaranteed winner to me. Also agree with the above comment that we are just...
