Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors

a new aBRT line down University NE/SE to Cleveland Ave in St. Paul and ending at the Ford Site.
I like this idea. Not all routes need to go downtown.

Re: Ideas / Wish List for Mpls in 2021

Stop visibility. That's the response I got when doing a similar boulevard tree study. If increasing ridership is a goal then adding shade seems like an easy way to make the bus stops more attractive. If the reason against trees is the bus might miss them wouldn't having people wait in shade 70 feet...

Re: Ideas / Wish List for Mpls in 2021

I have an idea to toss out.

Why not have Metro transit and the Minneapolis park board identify and plant trees wherever a bus stop could use shade and has room for a tree?

Saint Paul is #2 8-)
Minneapolis should hire whoever was able to qualify all those roads as parks. Or at the very least try get the lakes counted as parks.

2021 ParkScore index results will be released May 27th. Hoping Minneapolis wins this again despite the unfair mapping of the parks.

Maybe if the Orange line is extended north we can build some more south Minneapolis stations.

Re: Target Center Renovation

Even something as “small” as a basketball arena has some pretty significant clear span requirements for the playing surface and unobstructed sight lines. I can’t imagine how engineering a tower to literally sit on top would work. Next to or attached to, sure, but not actually on top. I was thinking...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project

I have a friend who lives near 35W and 38th who was disappointing he wasn't going to have a station nearby. I wonder if a station at 38th would pass today.

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project

I wish they would have done more for south Minneapolis. A stop at Franklin or 38th would have been nice or even increased frequency on route 46. I think the Orange line could have been better.

Re: Target Center Renovation

How interesting. I had the same thought of placing a tower on the arena. My building would have the arena portion sunk underground and the concessions on the street level so the restaurants could be open to the street when the arena is not in use. With additional commercial on the skyway level.

Re: Intercity Bus Services

Why not take the Golden Valley terminus into Minneapolis? It doesn't look like it would add much to the total length. And what is the deal with ending in Chaska? Why not have the 169 route end at a green line station in the golden triangle and the 5, 7, 212 route end at a green line station in Eden ...

North Loop looks to be getting a 25,000 sq ft park. https://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-park-board-aims-to-purchase-land-for-the-north-loop-s-first-neighborhood-park/600037233/ Thanks to Schafer and Richardson selling some of their land as they will build new around it. Re: North Loop Neighborhood

So they filled in a valley when they covered the creek? Guess day lighting the creek would take much more land than I had originally thought. At least this solves crossing I94.

I hope Minneapolis applies for some of the new RAISE grants. Does the city have anything in the planning process they could submit?

https://www.mwmo.org/planning/old-bassett-creek-tunnel/ The old tunnel is just below the surface, it was built within the old creek bed. https://i.imgur.com/JkpL8w0.jpg This is great! Re: Affordable Housing

Is there still a rule limiting rentals to three unrelated people? Some houses can easily house more than three people and I'd rather live with a bunch of roommates than in a tent encampment.
