Re: Highland Bridge: Ford Site Redevelopment

Has anyone close to the site been bothered by the blasting? The ‘rock trencher’ was ineffective at carving out the utility trenches. (too wet) There is no way to stay on schedule using excavator mounted hydraulic breakers, so we switched over to blasting last week.

I hope you are distanced/shielded from that, we have to drive 3,051 piling there.
Do you happen to have an update on which pile they're on? It's starting to drive me craaayyzee! lol

On site security, evenings and weekends.

Earth retention was removed just weeks ago, now we have to do it again. Not to mention the added demolition costs.

Further commentary left out to avoid being labeled a Neanderthal.

It reads as if the solution would be more police.

Hopefully, when the city enacts changes later this year or next, the social injustice specialist will be able to show these residents the error of their ways.

Vitally important to be able to get into my car and drive to the coffee shop 300 feet away.
If the spots on either side of the entrance are already taken, I will be using the drive-thru. If there isn’t one, I will drive around while my phone finds me one.

Green sod material = hydro seeding.
Mixture of grass seed, fertilizer, water, and a mulching material used to stabilize bare soil to prevent erosion.
I agree, sounds like it will be sitting as-is for a while.

The building pads where Pulte will be working is nearing completion. The deadline to have those sites ready is August 1st.
Site utility work has begun with sanitary sewer main installation. They started at the new Cretin/Montreal intersection.

Re: Ford Site Redevelopment

All of the deep sandstone tunnels mined for glass production are sealed off. They are deep enough that they are useless for site utilities, and will not affect building foundation stability. The vehicle tunnels to the river were bulkheaded at each end, and the elevator shafts were filled during demo...

The crane on Park will be coming down on Tuesday. We will finish wrapping up the storm water storage tanks after that, including de-lagging the retention wall on that side and remove the H-pile. Backfill will happen along the sidewalk, up against the building we will go up to the grade of the footin...

It is. Internally, we call it the Minneapolis Bus Garage.

It's more likely that there was a case of COVID-19 on the crew than that they ran out of funding. If they let the place sit for a few days and do some cleaning it should be fine I would think?? I wonder if studies are showing demand is going to plunge as the pandemic continues. This project dead, Foundry on a delay, (only, hopefully) others sure to follow. I know of four projects where the GC has authorized overtime to push up the completion date. Opinion only: I would be in a big rush to ...

Re: Proposed Cable Median Barriers on at-grade highways

Your second point is not too much of a concern. Removing cable barrier is cheap and easy. It is easier and cheaper to remove 300’ of cable barrier than to remove two large trees.
