Re: 1101 University Ave. SE (University Lutheran Chapel site
I was on campus on Tuesday and noticed that the church on this site is being demo'd. Guess they figure something will work out with it.

I hope people just take a breather from this. And I don't think it's prudent to ban anyone either. I really disagree with nasa sometimes but I'm glad someone offers counterpoints to mine. It would be very boring around here if all we hear is "Cool building!" "Yeah, I like it!" o...

Keep on keepin' on nasa... Your attitude never gets old. My attitude? Priceless. I bet there's maybe 4 people, who post here, who will ever go to a game. The snobbish attitudes here are odd *and* ignorant. FYI, I'm going to ban you from the site if you don't either A) Find a better way to express y...

Re: Vikings Stadium
There's a small part of me that wonders if it would have been better to let the culture of the NFL fester in burbs where drinking and driving is socially acceptable than to further fuel their weekend infiltration of the city. To be fair, I'm a proud resident of the city and got completely trashed a...

Re: Central Corridor LRT
It's sort of a bummer to have all the signage and everything all ready to go, almost two years before it'll actually be in operation

I got an email from the Be the Match people today (I'm on the registry) about a 25th anniversary tribute dinner on September 5th. Might be a good time for them to announce a new headquarters building?

Re: Dock Street Apartments
Pickard Chilton's work is weird in that half of the projects look great and half are awkwardly-proportioned boxes. This project is an awkwardly-proportioned box. Glass Centre Village? That alone isn't reason to not build it (though I would agree with seanrichardryan that the plaza is an odd waste o...

Re: 1368 LaSalle Ave development
Mysterious utility work continues. There are several blocked off areas (at least three) in intersections in the blocks around this site with orange netting, etc. I saw an Xcel Truck by one of them today when I was walking home from work--A/C went off and they sent us home...best day ever. They're al...

Re: Dock Street Apartments
Minneapolis has become too conservative for this type of architecture. I agree. I see someone (probably from an renter, too) complaining about not being able to view Target Field from their window anymore, or something lame like that. That, or this won't fit with the "historic character of the...

Check out the prices in that place! $903 a month for a one bedroom? That's crazy for basically new construction in Uptown.Buzza, not Bunde... Now rebranded as Buzza Lofts of Uptown, 1006 W. Lake Street.

Re: 1101 University Ave. SE (University Lutheran Chapel site
Do you really think it is that high at the U? I'm having a tough time believing that 50% of students at the U have cars. Maybe I'm more out of touch with Minnesota than I thought, but I would have guessed 20 or 25%. Almost no freshmen have cars. It increases each year...by senior year, I'd imagine ...

Re: 1101 University Ave. SE (University Lutheran Chapel site
It would be nice if they could come back with a plan to include a car-sharing service. I think the guess of 1/2 of students having cars is probably about right, but many of those are only used once a week for the grocery run. Do you really think it is that high at the U? I'm having a tough time bel...

Re: Westminister Church Parking Lot
They're only knocking down four stories? What a waste of real estate. So boring. They should knock it down at least 33 stories. They should dig a 29 story hole or this is a total waste, I'm so tired of all the boring projects.

Well, as a scientist, I counted the floors on the main drag of the building in the new rendering and got about 22, so if you count ~4ish in the pedestal, that's about right.
