Is there an amount of bad job that the school district could do that would result in negative electoral consequences for the school board? The experience of basically every big city school district over the past fifty years suggests that there is not really a bottom.

It does seem like "overhead" is eating the entire country, and unfortunately our social circles are full of that overhead :-/

As with Southwest before it, it might be fun for proponents to preregister some red lines. Is $5,000,000,000 too much?

I would be curious to know more detail about what the finances of Nice Ride looked like. Like when it went under, were they short $50,000 or $5,000,000? They did seem to get a lot of use.

Looks like we might get another six blocks of protected bike lanes on Washington in the Mill District. That would be an improvement!

On one hand, you want to ask if it would make sense to wait for conditions to improve before locking in a multi-decade use of this spot, but on the other hand, it's hard to imagine people wanting conditions to improve.

Interesting for this to be announced the same day that "mahalo" intersected with Minnesota Nice in the crossword.......who knows how connected the crossword people are.

Nuts we don't already have something like this. (it should have been built ten years ago in Calhoun Square) The window thing is a pickle, will be interested to see what their proposed floor plan looks like. It's not a very big site.
