Is there an amount of bad job that the school district could do that would result in negative electoral consequences for the school board? The experience of basically every big city school district over the past fifty years suggests that there is not really a bottom.

I would be curious to know more detail about what the finances of Nice Ride looked like. Like when it went under, were they short $50,000 or $5,000,000? They did seem to get a lot of use.

On one hand, you want to ask if it would make sense to wait for conditions to improve before locking in a multi-decade use of this spot, but on the other hand, it's hard to imagine people wanting conditions to improve.

Nuts we don't already have something like this. (it should have been built ten years ago in Calhoun Square) The window thing is a pickle, will be interested to see what their proposed floor plan looks like. It's not a very big site.

Perhaps someone has and I don't know because I'm not watching closely enough, but it would be nice if there were standards - perhaps even regulations - that could be put in place for autonomous vehicle makers to meet to demonstrate urban street worthiness. There is such a chasm between "better ...

Spotted a Waymo in the wild this morning after the snow. I think I have pretty good Luddite credentials overall and dislike many of the various things that are happening, but if you guys aren't going to stop looking at your phones when driving, I'll take the robot cars.
