Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
In the hypothetical world where 94 through N Mpls is removed, what do you do to the route numbering? (I like to think about these weird details.) Eliminate I-694 route number, entirety of old I-694 is now just I-94. Re-designate I-394 / remnant of old I-94 as just US-12 from Minnetonka to Oakdale. (...

Re: Shakopee - Savage - Prior Lake - Scott County
We bought our first home about 5 years ago for just over $200k in the SW metro, and you pretty much had to put in an offer same-day to have any chance whatsoever. On several occasions, we walked through a home and before our realtor could even contact the seller, another offer had already been accep...

Re: Interstate 94
As an actual fiscal conservative, I don't like the idea of being stuck on nightmarish traffic choked arterials with dozens of signals on my drive between downtown. Not trying to be rude or anything, but I don't think the first and second halves of this sentence have anything to do with one another....

Re: Interstate 94
I believe that, when entering the metro from either the east or west on I-94, there is a sign indicating "Minneapolis / St Paul bypass use I-694", meaning that's already effectively the official routing for through traffic.

The terminology my in-laws & parents use (from well outside the metro area):
"Minneapolis" = Twin Cities metro area
"Downtown" = anything within Minneapolis / St Paul city limits

Re: CHS Field (St. Paul Saints Ballpark)
My understanding has also been that St Paul is by far the most successful franchise in the American Association, and looking at the league 2019 attendance figures backs that up - the Saints averaged over 8,000 fans per game, while the next highest team was at about 4,000. I'm guessing their financia...

Re: CHS Field (St. Paul Saints Ballpark)
Sioux Falls Stadium (where the Canaries play) is even smaller than CHS field - 4,500 seats. I'm assuming if they were selected that significant stadium upgrades would be a part of the deal.

Very similar to the old county courthouse in my hometown of Sioux Falls as well.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
Does anyone know if the BNSF property in question is the entirety of the proposed BNSF co-location, or only a portion of it? It seems to be like all alternatives considered originally require some amount of BNSF co-location, especially in the vicinity of downtown Robbinsdale. I guess my dream outcom...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Yep, I think SW Station is envisioned by the planners to be a "funnel" terminus for the SW suburbs along highways 5 & 212. I'm guessing, for gamedays, it will draw riders from Mankato and beyond who would rather park for free in EP than deal with traffic and parking in downtown Mpls. Of course, one ...

Has there been any news on the FFGA? Seems like the timeline keeps slipping, but they stay optimistic that it will be signed soon. With construction in full swing, I'm sure that the $900mm will be needed sooner or later.

Interesting about the EP Penney's store. I think they had already started their going-out-of-business sales - must be awkward to walk those back.

The second rendering makes it look like a big sibling and a little sibling, gazing at the skyline, with an arm around the little one. If this gets built, that's how I'll always view it. Minnie with an arm around Paul

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
In case anyone was confused (like me), I sent an email to someone on the SWLRT team inquiring about the status of the EP Town Center station. I had heard through media reports that the City of Eden Prairie had contributed funds to include the station during construction and be ready when the line op...

Not that I necessarily disbelieve the rumors being mentioned on the thread, but has there been any objective reporting on the supposed mothballing of this project? Or is it just on the level of hearsay at the moment?

Startribune is reporting that the borrowing bill got punted to next session, likely due to Kurt Daudt's objections.

Weekly Construction Update
Looks like most of the initial heavy construction is focused on the Eden Prairie end of the line, including demolition of the old Culver's at SW Station, and starting work on the bridge over 494.
