Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors

Would it makes sense to have all the BRT lines have one central station in downtown? With the amount of aBRT lines and BRT lines having them converge into a terminal/station would allow making transfers easy. And if possiblehave a lrt connected with both this station

I thought that for a long ...

Re: Eden Prairie

Did we route SWLRT on that long detour through the Golden Triangle because of the huge amount of living wage jobs in offices and industry there, or because we envisioned replacing all those jobs with 5 over 1 mixed use with mininum wage burger flipping and store clerk jobs on the ground floor ...

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors

Some of these options are... interesting. Nicollet (18), 66th Street (515), or Lowry (32) would probably be the best options. American Boulevard is still a missed opportunity in my opinion, but I think we might be running out of good aBRT corridors. The route 2/63 combo is a cool concept, but I feel ...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail

I’d describe our LRT system as being more in line with the interurban railways that TCRT once operated. I do agree that a regional rail network should probably be downscaled in terms of rolling stock to tram-like vehicles (think River Line in New Jersey, for example). But yes, the LRT definitely ...

Re: Uptown - LynLake - The Wedge - News & General

I have this growing feeling that after the road construction is done and both the B *AND* E lines run right through its heart that Uptown is going to see a revival. The streetscape improvements are making it much nicer of a walking environment, and the urban amenities are just too good to be in a ...

Re: Suburban Transit (Opt-out Services Providers)

A couple more updates:
1. There is a small army of about 15-20 minibuses that appeared in the SWT bus yard, presumably for the 686. They appear to have headsigns so I'd imagine they will be the ones used for operation. I'm a little surprised that they didn't use low floor transit buses, but I guess ...

Re: Amtrak: Empire Builder and Borealis (TCMC)

Superliners were used this winter when Horizons couldn't handle the temperatures, correct? I am very happy to see them work with what they've got this quickly!

As cool as repurposing the Northstar fleet sounds, I don't think those coaches would work very well in a long distance setting. The trip is ...

Re: Gold Line BRT - Woodbury to St. Paul (3/22/2025) and Minneapolis (2027)

So, first day impressions, at least for me, were very positive. The infrastructure was really smooth running and pretty quick (the 35 minute runtime goes fast). Those flyovers were really impressive to ride over. I especially liked the stations. Nice, roomy shelters with good visibility to prevent ...

According to the schedule on metrotransit.org

First from Woodlane is at 4:54am, first from Smith & 5th is 5:11am.
Appreciate the correction, I swear it said 6:10 on Pantograph when I checked it but it matches what you said now. Sorry for any confusion!
