Re: Nicollet Mall
They really need to do a major facade reconstruction of the lower 4 stories. Make it street and predestrian friendly again.

Re: Bottineau LRT
I'm one that think there should be a street car line on broadway instead of Light rail. Just not enough room for Light rail up Broadway.

Re: Hiawatha Line (Blue Line)
The tracks have been laid and they have tore down the wall in between the addition and the old building. They still have to install the interchange locks for switching track. to the new addition. My friend who is a Light rail operator say that they are about 80% finished at this point.

Re: Block E
We have the Graves Hotel that is also on the block so you can't just forget about when it comes down to planning. The original Met was only a quarter block in size. The Grave sits right on the inside back side of the blocks half so you would be basically building within a foot of hotel windows. Not...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
THe Armory is a historic building so you will have a hard time being able to modify the roof. You might be lucky for some skylights, demoing any of the roof's structure will be a BIG NO. They will need all the historic tax creds they can find to make anything in an update there work.

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
2 things: 1: they are building the light rail maintenance station nect to the olf Gillett builing so they can not build the park to the south like they are showing here. THere is NO ROOM. Will be alot of tracks going almost up to the back of the staidium outfield walls. 2:I think Hosko was one of th...

We have the Graves Hotel that is also on the block so you can't just forget about when it comes down to planning. That is a major money maker for this city. THe 4 levels above Hennepin are the areas that need to be fixed. We need to get back to life on the streets so people see windows with people o...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
I just see another event center where those that we already have don't get enough business. This will be one expensive parking garage most of the time! Don't get me wrong, I love that old building, but It is such a hard building to reuse. You can't make it something that is already a use that does n...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
This plan works for 10 day out of the year. You don't spent Multi-million dollars on 10 days. There is little else around there to attract people. All Restraunts and bars are blocks fron the Armory. Will have to see if the Linear park is anything more than land taken off the tax roles.

I hope that they can get this building renovated. It is beautiful, but in its present state it is an eyesore at the gateway into the city and the Warehouse district.

Re: Loring Park Office Building Apartments
Apartment would do best with standardization and helps to save cost, and makes getting the units online much faster and tenents in before other units come online.

Re: 222
They removed 2 levels of parking that were not needed so that they would be able to build apartment and common space over the parking deck roof. There are 2 levels of parking above ground and one below ground. What you see now is basically what will be the first big building block for the apartment ...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Viking stadium is going to have to bring in alot of fill in development for that comcept to get any real traction. Part of why the Metrodome was such a waste land as there was little around to bring people in and want to stay. Your average Joe is not going to walk 6-10 blocks to get a bite to eat or...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Mostly what it is used for now PARKING!! I'll admit there are other uses that could work, but until there is better fill in around the Armory I just don't see that happening. One sensible one would be a winter time farmer's market. But that would be too big for a market which would have to ship in m...

I glad to say that I've very glad that piece of crap is destroyed. Ugly and ery none funtional building. New building will be alot of glass facing Hennepin and Lagoon. PArking is undergound and there will be light everywhere. Now if they add solar power I'd be happy!

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
I look forward to this ballpark. I think it will be a great catalyst for the area. With the light rail station only a few blocks away fans can ride to the game from Minnapolis and go to the many restraunts before/after the game to enjoy great entertainment. I remember what this area was like in the ...

Lock and Dam will not go way even if they quit using it commercially. Too much structure to rid of.
