Re: Mill & Main - (501 Main Street Southeast)

Does anybody know if they're going to bury those power lines?

Re: Junction Flats - (643 Fifth Street North)

That's what I want to know. The more I think about it, the more I think it's worth whatever it takes to get that hulk out of the North Loop. Where to put it, though, would be tricky.

Re: Saint Paul Union Depot

It was quiet inside today, as I assume it will remain for quite some time, but it was nice to see the restaurant fairly full at least. This place is amazing.

Re: Green Line (Central)

I drove the entire line today and took some fun pics. I especially like how things are looking near the MPR headquarters and in Lowertown. It's looking so close to completion! I can't wait for spring to see the landscaping and little details shaping up. http://tomabouttown.wordpress.com/2012/12/27/c...

Re: The Station on Washington - (630 Washington Avenue SE)

I took some overhead shots from the adjacent parking ramp - this is a pretty dull design, but its impact on the street and new feeling of density of Stadium Village will be pretty nice.

I took a few photos from the street level of this one. It's an aggressive looking construction site - I like it.

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)

This site is on my daily commute, and I was shocked yesterday to see some girders going up in the site already. I suspect this is going to start looking very different quite quickly. I'll get some more photos after the holiday...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

Update - that building is finally being demolished today. This hole in the ground looks gigantic from on foot on Nicollet looking toward the station.

Re: Mill & Main - (501 Main Street Southeast)

Not much different than what dmdhashw posted, but I threw up a few updates here. The facade is starting to go up, and I would say the stone-like stuff looks okay. This first phase has darker brick than I was expecting based on the rendering. I think the second phase will look nicer and lighter. I pu...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

As these open lots finally give way to development, and a massive new office complex is in place with more housing, they're going to need at least one big new ramp - and I'm fine with that as long as they're not whole-block monoliths that aren't part of another structure.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

I hope the Hines building is more than 20, too. I think it's a spectacular design, and I really like its interaction at the ground level. As for the WF project, I think it's a nice reassurance that Minneapolis will remain a major national banking hub. Yes, we have TCF, US Bank, Wells Fargo, ING and ...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

It's official, with this news and it being Friday, I'm not going to get anything done at work today. Fantasy land... Agreed! I need to calm down. This is exciting, and very unexpected even though I had heard of their space search. I just assumed it would go to a suburb, or something else boring. Si...

This could be an amazing development - I'm excited. And this would have to make them a front-runner on stadium naming rights for sure.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

Thanks for the mention, Matt! You have given me good incentive/reminder to get off my butt and upload some of the things I've planned for my little outlet. Aside from photos, I had planned to add a feature on my someday-most-desirable vacant lots of Northeast. It's going to be a real barn burner. Al...
