^^ this is the hardest one yet. I'll mourn this one for many years, and really hope Chef Jonathan Gans stays in our market.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this and see it as a totally appropriate, nice step forward for that part of town.

There are also obvious concerns about safety, so some urban schools (like Primrose) like to take spaces that aren't directly accessed from the street.

Re: Minneapolis Density and Population Growth (500k, etc)
Having brought friends from Boston (where I currently live) and San Francisco to Minneapolis, they were flabbergasted at how a place with such little street life and so much empty space could be considered a major city. Re: Electric Scooters

I'm a joke maker. Why do you want people to walk on the sidewalk so badly? There's already a thriving pedestrian scene one floor higher.Let's use projectors to make it look like everybody in the skyway is actually on the sidewalk.

Split-level retail is something I would love to more of in our city. Denver has a surprising amount of that in its downtown.

What do you all think about the reports that Target and Kroger might merge? While that brand doesn't have a big presence in our area, it's the second-largest retailer (behind Walmart) and 18th largest company in the U.S. according to Wiki... this could be good for downtown.

Re: Old Thrivent HQ Block - 4th Ave and 6th St (existing building & new parking ramp)
It's immediately adjacent to much taller buildings/the core, so it's much more bothersome than something like The Edition or most sites in the Mill District.
