Re: Midtown Corridor
After doing some googling, it looks like LRV vs. Street car is usually a function of grade separation. I take it what they're saying here is that they're going to use the same rolling stock as the LRTs for ease of maintenance, etc.? It looks like another biggish difference is the ratio of standing v...

Re: Ramp A
Cool ideas, but aren't there plenty of surface lots around that could serve similar purposes? I just wonder about ease of access, etc.

Re: Rumors!
I was thinking, though, that really any North Loop or Warehouse area would be highly visible from 394 as well. I'd think Loring would be prime, but so would the other areas.

Re: Rumors!
What would be an educated guess for 1. when we'll know for sure what it looks like, 2. location and 3. the chances are of this skinny tower actually getting built? Exciting, but I think Minneapolis is due for excitement (LPM notwithstanding)

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I didn't see anything in this thread relating to this so I apologize if this has been answered, but has anyone seen the reconstruction along Cedar Lake Parkway / Theodore Wirth Trail on the off-street trails? Holy cow, they're finally updating what was an absolute deathtrap just west of i-394, and t...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Yeah, I didn't want to be the one to bear the bad news. Incidentally, has anyone one tried registering for updates on rentlpm.com? I got a mistaken (Chicago) email response back. I might call them and get the low-down. I do have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a flurry for the units of this buil...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Well, there's been a lot of work on weekends - can't say I remember if Sat. or Sun., in general, but one of the guys standing at Spruce & 13th was wearing a hard hat. It almost looked like they were summoned on an emergency basis to deal with the whipping winds, which are obviously must stronger...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
The winds were so strong at midday yesterday that the stretch of Spruce from 13th to Grant was closed off to traffic by LPM workers and police. I think they were worried that flying objects could project from the building? Very strange.

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
About 2 days taller than the picture above ^. I.e., about a half floor higher. I am curious, though, if someone knows if that crane was raised again? It was said that the building would be roughly as high as the crane the last it was raised, but at this point I don't think there are enough stories l...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
It's also visible from Lake Calhoun's large SW beaches, probably about the top 4-5 floor currently. Especially at night you're going to notice it, but it's not really extending the skyline from that vantage point.

Bemidji? Not a clear article, but it sounds like Rochester is really the next true expansion city.

I couldn't find anything on this board relating to the closing of King and I Thai - http://www.kingandithai.com - their website says they're looking for a new location, but http://www.bringmethenews.com/2012/11/18/king-and-i-thai-to-close-after-32-years/ various articles indicate the management is r...

Re: TCF Tower atrium
Maybe they could renovate it to look like this again- http://collections.mnhs.org/cms/web5/me ... &width=640 :) Well, that would certainly mix things up around here... but seriously, even just some tables and chairs and like a Zen garden in the fountain space. It wouldn't take much. However, I ...

Re: TCF Tower atrium
I work in this building and I've also noticed that the atrium is a totally wasted space, at current. It's about as uninviting as imaginable. The "fountain" is completely dry, and the only place to even sit down in here is on the low brick berm surrounding said dry fountain. I was just ment...

Re: 4Marq - (400 Marquette Avenue)
Forgive me if I missed it on the earlier pages of this thread, but looking at that model, are the two buildings' pedestals officially going to integrate that smoothly? Or is this merely an educated guess?

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Last I counted it was around 24-25 (including base). I'd say 10-or-so remaining. Have they slowed down a bit, maybe, since the weather turned cooler?

Re: Nice Ride Minnesota
Actually, my thought was that there would be a huge influx before games, creating a huge confusion among first-time riders, who then would get flustered and give up on the system. I think those little pickups would be running overtime to keep up with demand. Still - take a section in a parking ramp ...
