Re: Speed Humps (Plymouth)
You have to pop into first gear to clear some of them - think 5-10 mph. It's already a narrow street so you don't feel inclined or comfortable going faster anyways. I talked to the city of Plymouth, they said they can't change the speed limit - otherwise I'd argue for a 20-25 mph limit. Sounds reall...

Speed Humps (Plymouth)
Hello all, this is basically a call for advice and aid relating to what I view to be unnecessary speed humps near my brother's house in Plymouth. They're located near the south shore of Medicine Lake on South Shore Drive, between Peninsula Road and 13th Ave N. I'm trying to get a petition together t...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
It looks to me like they wanted fewer floors of parking so they bloated it out on either end and played them off as little balconies. Not that the balconies look bad as long as you're the one on top.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I wasn't under the impression that the Midtown Streetcar was mutually exclusive, but rather synergistic with the LRT options?

Anything new on this project? Is it dead? What's likely to come of it if so? Last time I biked by here it's a real eye sore.

What are the odds this moves forward with the cut-and-cover option? I'm not even sure what I want to happen anymore.

If my children's children are still dealing with this snafu and the Virginia Triangle ... *Sigh* Just build more transit, at least, then.

Re: I-35W/I-94 Commons
Well, I'm not sure what it cost to unweave 62/I-35w a few years back, but I have a feeling this would cost at least half again what that cost. Unless we see some pork barrel spending for interstate commerce (i.e., freeways) I just don't see them fixing this. My real hope is that they tackle some of ...

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
Especially going back to the whole discussion about higher units with views driving the market for new high-rise condo developments. If I were planning a tower and saw that the higher units weren't selling quickly I'd probably be a bit gun-shy to build a skyscraper condo building, right?

Re: Orchestra Hall
I wasn't only referring to his/her post. ^ as in, above, is not on topic. It just so happened that his/her post had virtually no ancillary relation to the building that is Orchestra Hall. IMHO this thread needs moderation and should try to stay a bit more focused.

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
Perusing the StoneBridge leasing website did anyone else notice that most sold units are on the lower floors? I suppose that's largely due to the fact that prices are far lower, but I would have thought the 10-11-12th floors would have been some of the first to go. Anyone else surprised?

Re: I-35W/I-94 Commons
I'd love to revive this topic. Driving in the I-35/I-94 commons, heck anywhere near the commons, is just such a farce it makes me angry every single time I drive by. Left entrances, left exits, sharp, blind turns, forced weaving. Does anyone know if there's any chance they'll unweave this weave in t...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I think we mostly agree this isn't a great line for its direct service, but, paired with a few well-placed streetcar lines or improved bus lines, it could be an efficient arterial to the core of DT Minneapolis. I think we should hope it gets built - now, not later.

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
I agree completely that high-angle views are/will be a serious attracting factor for those would-be downtown residents. However,it may actually give a nice tiered look if there are mid-rises nearest the river with taller skyscrapers behind them. Thankfully there's not much to block this project's vi...

Do we have more info on that single story section? Swimming pool and such? Not sure I understand why they bothered, but it's probably better than a mere surface lot?

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Is anyone else here looking to actually live in this building when it's done? With a July opening, what's the best way to get to the top of the pile for the best units? I'm thinking I'd pull the trigger and put down a deposit on this gem.

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I'm actually glad they included integrated parking in this project. The part of the building that sticks out from the rest of the nearby apartments is gorgeous and the retail will draw the eye from the relatively bulbous parking structure. Parking is incredibly tight in this area as it is and they d...
