Re: Minneapolis Fiber

Thanks for the update, Travis. Is there anything you can share about the new technology you're deploying on Hennepin, Nicollet, etc. and why they won't get full gigabit fiber?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Seeing as the park board has basically been acting like a petulant child lately, one could argue they're due a few slaps, if one believes in the corporal punishment sort of thing.

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings

There's a huge us v.s. them mentality amongst the suburban transit providers.
Seeing as the whole reason suburbs became a thing in the first place is so that the "us" could flee the "them," that's not really surprising.

It's enough to make you want to move to a deserted island, because clearly we're screwed no matter what we do.
Or wish that cities could secede from their states. Imagine how better off most large cities/metros would be if they were their own states.

Re: Grocery Stores

The only time I don't shop at Trader Joe's is when I'm lazy and go to the Lund's across the street from me, so count me among those who don't know what it's missing. Regardless, their chocolate is cheap and amazing.

It was and it's just late and I've apparently had one too many to make the connection. There is now a non zero probability of local media running with that rumor though.

The Vikings stadium is going to be iconic in design
I think "iconic" needs to start getting the "vibrant" treatment.

Miami is a very car centric city. Brickell (sp?) was the closest thing to walkable last I was there. It cannot be understated how trashy the beach will be.

I'm not sure why simply raising the gas tax is such a hard concept.
Because they're Republicans. Raising any tax any amount for any thing is a non starter.
