Re: North Loop Neighborhood
That lighting supply project is kind of hilarious. They're rolling their dream single family home build plus their rental portfolio into a single project.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
In the context of Hennepin Avenue, I'm pretty sure it was around before automobiles existed, and was only used by people, horses, and horse-drawn trams (later electric trams). So to the people who want the status quo and think their voices aren't being heard, I say they should be grateful the optio...

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
This is becoming a major NIMBY issue around here-- all of the worst people are opposing it. Do they pose a real threat to this project?

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
Two (minor?) things that have been annoying me since completion The ped bump-outs on the 35th and 36th street bridges are terrible. Large vehicle constantly drive over them. Can a school bus even make those turns? Sure seems like they can't. Disappointed they went back to the old configuration at 62...

Re: Target Center Renovation
I think it needs to stay where it is. Basketball is by far the most urban/cosmopolitan sport+ the events/concerts etc. makes this is the only stadium/arena that must be downtown IMO.
I think they could add good amount of width out back if 2nd (and the 6th st exit) were reworked (combined).

Sure, I agree its out of place but it seems like there is a lot of life left in that building. I'm talking about developing its giant surface lot.

Re: West Lake Apartments - 3012 Excelsior Blvd
Yep. But at the same time, it's a good location for retail and they seem to be doing pretty well keeping it leased up, so I also don't think there's any urgency to move forward. If it's cash-flowing, they can sit and wait until the market is primed. Yeah all the shitty retail around here is extreme...

Hell yes. Hopefully this is a step toward the eventual urbanization of all the crap that surrounds it. There is a ton of potential in the (relatively) open real estate here.

It really is amazing how some people see the idling police car as threatening, and some see it as reassuring. Is it amazing? It's a major lesson of the last few years. Police presence is both. But I'm 100% with Alex. It shouldn't be a on the sidewalk and it shouldn't be idling. Seems like exactly w...

Yeah no way the existing ramp is sufficient IMO.
This is potentially a pretty great concept though. The pedestrian path area could be a game changer if done well.

lol twincitizen, modding your ass off. It's not the reason not to do it, but how hilarious would it be to have underground stations on Broadway while our trains continue to putz through downtown on surface streets? Your grade separation suggestions seem very reasonable, but also seem like the kind o...

It's not the southern tip of Kenwood. And the tunnel has zero to do with appeasing the wealthy. So Ill just be more direct and say your narrative is bogus.
Yeah, a tunnel through Kenwood would have been to appease the wealthy.
But.it.didn't.happen.

Not that it matters but the tunnel is not in Kenwood, nor is it adjacent to the most wealthy/valuable homes on the line-- not even close.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
So, who else thinks the re-do between 31st and Lake can already be considered a failure, and we should just ditch the bike lanes and add back a parking lane on the west side of the street? (Maybe a bunch of 15 or 30 min spots, if that's a thing) Also, why no love for option 4? Makes the street less ...
