Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
So, who else thinks the re-do between 31st and Lake can already be considered a failure, and we should just ditch the bike lanes and add back a parking lane on the west side of the street? (Maybe a bunch of 15 or 30 min spots, if that's a thing) Also, why no love for option 4? Makes the street less ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Yeah, I don't see how picking up takeout is more irresponsible than getting delivery, or going to a grocery store, or getting groceries delivered. In all cases someone is taking a risk.

Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
I think any Kenwood family that can afford private school is already in private school. In my personal experience this is definitely not true. There is a huge contingent Kenwood area families (and I don't mean Kenwood the neighborhood, i mean the elementary school zone) that can afford private scho...

Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
I'm assuming they've considered this (at least a little) but the wealthy kids in kenwood that they think will save north won't save north....because they wont go to north. They will move or go to private school.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
I agree with the premise, but even without zero zoning concerns lowry hill and kenwood are not going to see a bunch of multifamily conversions or new construction. Maybe some high end new construction duplexes or a random triplex conversion of a shitty old victorian (though even those make more sens...

Re: Root District - Farmers Market / Royalston Station
I don't think anyone says "Farmers Market District." It's more like "by the farmers market." So I actually like this.

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development
I have an (older) acquaintance who lives in this immediate area. She thinks the closure is crime related. Thinks the neighborhood has (recently) turned to shit and is now totally crime-infested. Shes scared to go outside at night (like literally she will not exit her home when its dark). She won't s...

Tons of spots around here have been/are being blocked off. Once these projects finish up we'll get back a bunch of spots. Then just price them correctly and it should be all good.

Chef's not talking about "big" houses. He's talking about micro-apartments vs normal apartments. I pretty much agree.

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
So the goal is to force people to walk somewhere they'd rather not walk, in the hope that you can manufacture a thriving street culture similar to those found on the East Coast? Why not just try to improve the iconic and unique pedestrian system you already have? Is this in response to the projecto...

I've thought about for about five minutes, and I don't get how avoiding fast food for "healthy eating" is funny. And I like to mock and ridicule just as much as the next guy.
