Re: St. Louis Park - General Topics
I guess I don't understand the area between Minnetonka Blvd and the high school. Why is the parking switching from side to side? Are they hoping that it slows down traffic?

Re: Suburbs - General Topics
I was struck by how incredibly bad Bloomington's new Toro headquarters is in terms of property tax -- not because there's anything wrong with the building, but because it's the building, plus acres of parking, plus acres of green space that offers little value other than showing off Toro's specialt...

Re: MN Highway 100
As a long time resident of Saint Louis Park living with the bottleneck at TH 7 is a fact. Now that the $80M 1-mile lane addition is completed a few years now I think it’s pretty wild how congestion is back like before. It was great for a brief time after it was finished, but as soon as they started...

Have you been to the Towerlight area? Please, take a photo of a pedestrian there [emoji846] , because there are none. There’s just one, giant, inwardly focused use that has no interaction with the street. The building looks fine, the business is fine, there’s just nothing that invites pedestrians i...

Re: Wooddale Station Area / PLACE Proposal - St. Louis Park
This morning I watched as a construction worker started marking the sidewalk just to the south of the Wooddale bridge. This section of sidewalk has hardly had time to dry as it was replaced during the reconstruction of the bridge and surrounding area this fall. I wonder how many times this area will...

Kind of makes on wonder why Harriet ended up closing then. The word was that the block was going to be redeveloped. I don't think Harriet had much margin for error since they weren't distributing at all. They certainly had let the place go in the last year or so.
None the less, this is great to see.

I went to a little q and a session last night for the Block restaurant which will be taking over the Park Vacuum building on Walker. They plan to start gutting the building in the next month or so and hope to open in June. This is being run by Craft & Crew Hospitality. They run Pub 819 in Hopkin...

Seems to be a lot of activity at Via/PLACE this week.
Still waiting to see something other than a fenced off hole at the old American Legion site.

Re: St. Louis Park - General Topics
I remember that intersection at 36th st pretty well. When I was learning to drive, I was driving a manual transmission and that was a good sized hill as you drove from the north. I killed the car about a half a dozen times after coming to a stop at that light (odd to think there was a stoplight on H...

Overall I like the plans and I would welcome anything that eases traffic flow at that intersection. The change at Lake and Walker is nice too. Over the years I've seen a lot of accidents and close calls right there.

Re: St. Louis Park - General Topics
My only concern about the roundabout is it's proximity to the school and the number of kids that cross the street randomly in the area. I think traffic may move at faster speeds with the roundabouts. I know that there have been some pedestrian issues on Louisiana with traffic speeding through and no...

I had heard that Chipotle and Brueggers were moving into the Granite Cuty location and that a new building will be going into their current space for Park Nicollet.

Re: Sunday Liquor Sales and other Beer/Liquor Legislation
I was wondering if this might have been as much a publicity stunt as anything. What better way to get free advertising than to do something like this. Once the word got out, the line for check out was weaving through the store. Even with the fines, it's probably a lot cheaper than hiring an add agen...

Granite City closing SLP restaurant. http://www.startribune.com/granite-city-restaurant-in-st-louis-park-closing-for-good/415428264/ Seems negotiating the lease didn't go well. I would love to see a little higher quality brewpub move into the space. Never that big of a fan of Granite City so I'm no...

Winner! The prices are so high, they are in danger of being hit by the turning tower crane.
