Re: The Edge on Oak - (406 12th Avenue Southeast)
Specific Complaints: The Brick is not real brick, you can see the sections. The painted cement panels (are low quality construction) are painted two browns that go together awfully. The browns also don't get along with the Red trim, which may be it's best unique feature. It has the ugly AC Pack thin...

Re: Bascali's Brick Oven
Last week I was working with the building owner, He's going to be renovating the exterior a bit, and a Thai restaurant will be going in it's place. They are getting rid of one of the curb cuts and putting in a patio on the east side. He also has plans to freshen up the front of the market across the...

Re: Office Market
It's proven that it's not just the people on this site who want this though. The second largest generation in the US right now are the MIllenials, and depending on where you look, 60%-80% of them prefer to live and work in an urban core. I feel like the twin cities are so car oriented that people ar...

Re: Third North
I think it will stay pretty plain, but I hope the back has some interest, like an "E" shaped footprint with courtyards, that would be good for residents at least.

Re: Third North
I knew you'd like that :D The other sides and inside courtyards of that building are really great, and interesting building to read up on really. The materials and design there are far better than our building will ever get. I still don't think it's as criminal as some other recent/to be msp buildin...

Re: City Walk Uptown
Maybe a few nights a week, 5 months a year... I don't really think that is such a big concern for someone moving into the heart of uptown at this point. They will probably doing things in their windows astonishing the guests at Stella's LOL!

Oh. Really. North Korea? Yeah. You really hit the nail on the head there. http://nimg.sulekha.com/others/original700/2008-9-20-3-35-30-2644257a0d2c48d3b6f4faad318f4456-2644257a0d2c48d3b6f4faad318f4456-2.jpg It may be simple, but often that's the type of architecture that ages slower. Re: Central Corridor LRT
That makes me sick. These sorts of things are the proof that anything that has an iota of historical presence or importance should be preserved/re-purposed. Decisions like this are made for not just ours, but future generations, and we don't understand what our current world will hold in historical ...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
Denver having tourist does probably help, but even if the Twin Cities doesn't have as many 'destination tourists' it has a lot of incidental visitors (family in town, business, traveling through, long layovers). They could be going to the DT core for sight seeing or shopping from the airport or subu...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
Yeah, but Denver doesn't have the Mall of America Uber Mall stealing all of its DT business, in an already fashion and clothing conservative area. Lot's of retail is just a little too 'spendy' for a lot of Minnesotans, even if they can afford it.

Re: Third North
I think it's the kind of architecture that can easily be accomplised well, and fit into the neighborhood with a modern feel.
And YES! so much better than what is there now. This is exactly what we need to keep fueling this and future urban neighborhoods.

Re: Parking Lot at 4th St and Wacouta
My hunch is it won't be for sale for long. It is an ideal location for residential development. The LRT will be a wonderful asset to downtown St Paul and is going to attract many more people to live there. Indeed, St. Paul is now the suburb with the hottest growth. :D Zing! Lowertown is becoming an...

I feel like this would be a very good opportunity for them to Build a new facility, while still operating, instead of remodeling, and then make some $$$ selling their current location? Strange.

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
Ohhh, I like the 5th St. Idea... It's not really a major street in the realm of trying to get to the Interstate during rush hour either is it? It does have a number of parking garages that might be a little frustrated though? Did Nicollet have that challenge?

Re: Dock Street Apartments
It looks like it is two buildings because there is a courtyard there, and you can't see the back wall of the courtyard in the rendering. It's much more obvious in this earlier rendering.
