Re: Dock Street Apartments
Here's the original site plan, the new rendering looks almost exactly like the old ones. So this answers a lot of questions about what is where and what buildings are staying, the road, etc etc... Excited if they get started in the Fall! http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/public/@cped/documents...

Re: Dock Street Apartments
I love the design, I love the density addition, I love the canopies, I love the simplicity, I love the materials. I think it's better than Twinsville. It's not gimicky or too commercial. North Loop is seriously going to be the kickassiest (most vibrant ) neighborhood in Minneapolis.

Re: Sears
That whole area got bulldozed a long time ago before the Sears went in, of course. The store was built by 1966 (even before I-94 was completed to the south), as seen in the aerials in this blog post of mine: http://hizeph400.blogspot.com/2011/12/rondo-and-i-94-vs-central-corridor-lrt.html Today, pa...

I really like the idea of restoring the grid to all sorts of traffic. It's very confusing for people driving there for the first time, visitors etc... But I was thinking about the Multi-Way Blvd that was discussed elsewhere. What if they created something like that here, just for the block, one lane...

Re: Bennet West and Center Blocks
I really like that the Units on the Promenade have their own entrances. that town house feel is so great!Hopefully people using them will help encourage people to use the promenade, and not feel like it's private property. Which is how I feel going past flux and the one east of Bennet...

Re: What will it take to develop DTE?
The diagonal greenway is great. As well as the square park. A lot of people disagree that those sorts of parks are valuable, but our DT is severely lacking in greenspace. We can't just rely on the river and Loring park to cover the needs of all of the potential people that would occupy what used to ...

Re: Vikings Stadium
The lobby is interesting. All dark slab marble, terrazo, and a globe sculpture in the middle from what I recall. AGREED!!! This is the most important thing. The 40's Strib building is AMAZING, and could be converted into something great. Anyone have interior pictures of the star trib building? I ca...

Re: Fiscal Disparities
Anoka falls into the handful of cities that were established communities before the suburbs reached them. That makes them a little bit different from the get go, with downtown's and historic architecture. Wayzata Stillwater etc etc... but its a bit of an outlier in my mind.

That entire triangle block is essentially impervious, so that will make a nice addition

The Greenway Coalition only cares if you are building on the South Side (the side with the most mixed use potential *shakes fists*)

According to skyscraper page they have 30 buildings proposed or under construction over 500 ft tall. That city is going to look VERY different in 5-10 years. Can we have just one!?

Looks like if you're standing on the edge, (and people are pleading with you not to jump) You might have glimpses of IDS, The Radisson, US Bancorp, and probably some Target action which would be good in the evening. http://goo.gl/maps/dHiN But wouldn't it be nice to give them easy access to some nic...

Re: Park Vista (2nd St S & 11th Ave S)
I like the wood because it adds a lot of warmth and elemental feeling to an urban building. This rendering is in severe need of some simplification though, I'm not sure what the deal is with that top section, but they almost look like retractable awnings of some sort, so they would be changing all t...

Re: Fiscal Disparities
Again you have a tenuous grasp of the English language. It may be snobbish but not bigoted. Ha! It's no secret the North Metro is a little frugal/cheap, which is fine (to each their own, but no wonder they are rebounding the worst from the housing crisis), but it really does only exist because of t...

The rooftop will have a view of La Salle Plaza right? Pretty nice, but not extensive. Sounds like we need to build some more tall buildings on the south side of Hen and 1st ave to accommodate them ;D

Re: Park Vista (2nd St S & 11th Ave S)
I think it will flesh out to be pretty nice. Let's not pretend that architects haven't taken plenty of design fundamental, color theory, and such classes at some point in their schooling. early CAD renderings are often based on what they have available to put on the drawing. I think it will look esp...
