Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
I used to work in the Wells Fargo Tower. Always loved walking into that beautiful lobby but always longed for the amenities, mostly an exercise facility, of other buildings. I work in one of the premiere towers in the CBD, designed by a famous architect and adorned with fancy materials, but I sure w...

Yes! Love this development! What I love more is seeing developers fitting new projects into unorthodox (at least for Mpls.) locations.

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 39 stories / >450'
What I love about this project is that it forces to city and county to extend downtown amenities and dense planning from the core. Washington is quickly becoming, if not already, the most important street in downtown by connecting a diverse art, educational, transit oriented, and restaurant area (Ri...

This is a very exciting project. Lots of work being done in Hawthorne to make the most of the numerous empty lots in the neighborhood. Hope this will set a good precedent for other projects!

Taking the bus home on the 5 and noticed that the stoplights, some signage, and light polls were removed from the 8th street intsection. Oh the power of the NFL to demand infrastructure removed after only a few months of operation.

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
I was able to bike down the entire length of the Mall yesterday from Washington to Grant. It's a huge transformation and probably better than I realize since I can't see the old and new side by side. The trees are wonderful and the flow of the sidewalks seems to better connect the buildings to the s...

Re: Doran/General Mills Development - 215 2nd St SE (284' - 26 Stories)
It looks like the architects planned for 10 more stories but had to chop it down and instead of redesigning the structure they simply stopped it where they were required. Even a simple crown-type structure would help.

Win!Anyone want to print that out for the next time people say gentrification is bad for historic preservation at a meeting? There was an article in F&C that noted that it was the increase in North Loop rental rates that finally made the financing on the renovation possible.

I'm trying to pick myself up off the floor. How many years have I walked past 200 Washington wondering what would happen first, renovation or collapse? This is so wonderful!

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
I didn't go to the match last night but passed by on my way home from work and noticed a massive amount of chain-link fencing surrounding the stadium forcing people into security lines and eliminating any good usage of the massive concrete plaza. Seems like really poor planning especially when compa...

Re: Hi-Lo Diner (4020 Lake St E)
I’ve been to Hi-Lo twice. Both times I’ve found the food to be quite good though the prices are a little on the high side, especially for the adult malts. I do have a few issues. Last Saturday they did not have their patio ready, big oops for such a nice day, and as a result the service lacked as th...

Probably too small of a space for Apple. That said, a Downtown Apple Store is something that is requested in my office multiple times a week. Are we too small a population to justify a store?I'd be thinking maybe an Apple Store...it'd be so convenient for downtown workers/dwellers.

Re: Target Field and Target Field Station Development
Could we at least grow some ivy? The current black panels create a batter's eye that does not mesh with the style of the stadium.Maybe this'll be the impetus to get the trees back in the batter's eye?

Taking away quite a few seats, but not like the Twins sell out anyways.. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/20564-changes-to-cf-at-target-field/ According to DSP this renovation will actually increase the capacity of Target Field since it will allow for more standing room tickets than seats being removed.

Like in the renderings? The black panels have always been in them. http://urban-works.com/project/4marq/ I never noticed them in the renderings before, but now they are impossible to miss. There do appear to be more going in than the rendering shows. Maybe not. Either way they look terrible. Couldn...
