Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
^ It reminds me of some of the new development in Chicago where I used to live. I'm actually surprised there isn't more smaller 2-3 flat type development in Minneapolis.

Re: Downtown Retail News
I have a little tidbit on Wilson and Willy's. I was in the Hudson Valley this past July and met with a woodworker/artist, and I can tell that his products will be sold at Wilson and Willy's. I imagine that W & W won't be cheap, but it should be a really nice store that sells top quality products...

I was driving otherwise I would have taken a picture, but they're installing the ferris wheel now. Actually, the whole building is coming along fairly quickly.

Re: Elan Uptown Phase II - (center and west blocks)
The townhomes are coming along. I wish Minneapolis had a bunch more of this type of building scattered around town. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5581/15081227027_553e91bccc_z.jpg Elan II townhomes NE corner 9-16-14 by bapster2006 , on Flickr https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5558/15081225858_bff079c...

Re: Chicago
Having lived in Chicago for several years ( I recently moved away ) I can tell you that Bucktown (and more broadly Wicker Park since the two neighborhoods bleed into each other on the northern end) is a more well-heeled area now than it was 10-15 years ago. It's filling up with more upscale shopping...

Re: Betty Danger's Country Club
looks like construction has resumed for this project. although, i'm not sure to what extent - if they're just demolishing the carwash or if they're going to start building the restaurant. either way dirt is moving!

Re: Brutalism
^^^ I walk by that building every day! It's part of the University of Illinois, Chicago campus. I'm hoping that the university eventually remodels many of the other brutalist buildings on campus..many of them are not in good shape, particularly University Halls' exterior. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Heres a link to a building under development in Philadelphia right now that is surprisingly similar, albeit a little more colorful, to the WaHu development near the U of M.

Re: Green Line (Central)
Question: In this short video (above) the rep. from the Met Council quoted fares at 2.25 for non-peak and 2.50 for peak? was that just a verbal error or will fares be increasing when the new line comes into service?
