Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
Those are very good observations, David. I was hoping somebody would point out issues like that. Regarding neighborhood labels, I added them as a matter of fact at the very last minute. Adding common names vs. official would certainly be beneficial for all target audiences. It's great that you're th...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
Here's the latest update, which mostly includes bug fixes and small additions like missing station labels, city/hood labels, commuter lines, etc. I'm also taking your suggestions for which regional destinations to be included on the map (i.e. State Fairgrounds) DOWNLOAD FUTURE TRANSIT MAP (3500 px, ...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
Cool. I was just thinking about making hi-frequency map the other day. We should dwell on it a little more...
I've mostly been trying to figure out how to include the Hi-Frequency network in this somehow, but that's difficult since they largely overlap the rapid bus/streetcar corridors.

Yes. Apart from brutal winters, they don't have much in common really.

Name is Kyril. I am one part Estonia-born, one part Central-Asia-raised, all parts identity-crisis-ridden cosmopolite. My relatives now reside in 15 different countries, so my goal is to visit them all in the coming years. I'm a recent U of M grad. I like free beer and maps.

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
Green Line (Central Corridor) is missing several stations. Orange Line 82nd St should be changed to American Blvd. Strike the stations at Diamond Lake and 38th, as they are not planned or in the distant future, respectively. The Central Ave NE and E-7th Rapid Bus lines should be modified to termina...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
---- COPIED FROM PREVIOUS PAGE ---- I think the Metrotransit map succeeds at showing more information coupled with enhanced readability, albeit at the expense of scale and proportion. In my case, I tried to retain greater geographical accuracy, and show an idea of distance. The...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
I wish the downtown area was at 45 degree angles, and that there was some sort of downtown inset. From an aesthetic viewpoint, I like the simplicity of straight angle. I hate the usability issues that arise with it as soon as you start adding aBRT / streetcar routes into the mix. It starts to look ...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
What do you guys think about this official map that is currently hanging at the Target Field station? How do you like the relative scale of things? It is highly abstract. Notice, for example, that the downtown area is placed at 90 degree angle rather than 45 degree angle. SW LRT line appears to be o...

I started a dropbox folder r where you can share planning documents about ongoing and future transit projects. To join the public folder: click 'download' at the top right corner of the page, then choose 'add to my dropbox' (you will need to create a new dropbox account if you don't already have it)...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
It might be helpful to include the routes selected by CTIB here: http://www.mnrides.org/transit-projects/transit-map I saw this map at the Union Depot opening and was struck by how different it is from the Met Council and even TLC maps. Now, the law says CTIB can't fund anything that isn't in the M...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
The one aBRT/streetcar line that I think WILL be designated as part of the METRO system is the Midtown Greenway connector, due to it being grade separated and most like LRT (if not actual LRT vehicles rather than streetcar). So then, would the Midtown Greenway line run parallel to the Lake St. &quo...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
may I suggest using the same shades of green and blue as are the "official shades" I think it would be a bit more in reality. It's fun to pretend all the proposed lines will get built :) I really do like your maps they are very modern and much better than anything I seen from Metro Transi...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
I don't have an opinion either way. From a visual standpoint, there is some benefit to having everything appear neat and unified like so: http://goo.gl/4XQUa
Note that Green and Gateway lines are shown as interlining, but so are the W 7th and E 7th pair.
