Re: Downtown Parking Ramps
Any idea when the 4th and Nicollet ramp was built? How did that get approved on Nicollet Mall?

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Yeah the crane has been up since early February. You can see pictures of it half built and then fully built a few pages back in this thread.Cool! Is the crane fully erected?

Re: Empire Builder
19% since 1997. Not to be a hater, but how much has the metro area population increased since 1997? I just hate misleading statistics like that. I have yet to try Amtrak, but I hope to soon. I'd expect that having a proper train station, even if in the wrong city, will cause a small spike in riders...

Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Perhaps a tad premature, but does anyone have a rough estimate what rents may eventually run for this building? I presume there's a large range, but I'd be curious if anyone has an educated guess for various setups. I'm especially curious about a 1-br unit facing downtown. Will rates be higher depe...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Miller Park is horrible, it was built to get people in the building. There are rides in the concourses and it is more of an amusement park. There is no air movement and there are too many distractions in the outfield. Just an awful experience. It should have been built downtown. No doubt it should ...

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
There is many things to dislike about our streets, but honestly they are quite decent compared to a lot of other cities. Most of our streets have islands, curbs, sidewalks, crosswalks. Even MnDot will place these things in semi-rural areas on highways. In a lot of places, sidewalks don't exist on m...

Re: Vikings Stadium
The parking lots surrounding Miller Park suck but the building itself is great!I hope that it does not resemble Miller Park either. That place is a dump.

Re: Saint Paul streetcar study
Why can't streetcars and arterial BRT exist in the same corridor? Streetcars would do well to serve the local stops, be the extension of walking - ie you hop on when it's convenient and it saves you 5-10 minutes in your would-be 10 block walk. When you need to hike all the way from Randolph and Lex...

Minneapolis has a lot of cool murals. The garbage burner looks like a good blank canvas for a new one.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Former Milwaukee resident and current Minneapolis resident here. I think overall Milwaukee fared much better than Minneapolis in regards to urban renewal efforts. The Third Ward is an excellent example of how well the city overall was preserved. Milwaukee obviously did lose a lot as the previous pos...

Re: Dight Ave
Speaking of renaming streets, I just noticed today that 13th St. between Nicollet Mall and Marquette Ave. has been renamed Alice Rainville Place. How long have these signs been up? I doubt I would have noticed if the bus driver had not announced the stop as "Alice Rainville Place, formerly 13t...
