Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

I know the basic arguments for locating the stadium where it is (primarily leveraging existing infrastructure both public and private and questionable claims of economic development), but maybe this is just an excellent reason that they should have been sent to Arden Hills (or wherever). If the Sta...

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)

This will be kind of like a skate park already with all the stairs and hand rails! Just wait until the skaters swing by, I bet they'll be there all the time.

Re: Downtown Parking

Why walk anywhere when you can drive a car? Walking sucks. I love my cars and enjoy driving them. This isn't Europe people - it's Minneapolis and people like to drive around here. Get over it.

Re: Downtown Parking

Why does everyone on this board hate parking ramps so much? I get the obvious reasons due to their appearance, but they are needed. I mean, the people using them are from out of town and are downtown spending money. Does Minneapolis not want the sales tax and parking revenue from out of towners? I d...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Media mesh looks like crap anyways. That's what the Twins have at Target Field and it's called the Twins tower or something like that. It's located in the outfield in right field next to the parking ramp and there's a clock on top. Not a good look IMO.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

It is Minneapolis Moda... We are not used to "bait and switch" UPGRADES around here. Usually it's downgraded materials, etc. when changes occur.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Not sure they care. I suspect this game will sell out very quickly. I'll be curious to see if it does. (And I'll most likely go, for the record) Either way, this is another example in which the Vikings look needlessly petty. It'd be nice if they could figure out an arrangement to make this a double...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Correct - they are simply adding to the space that was walled off with drywall for future renovations to suites. It looks like they decided to use that space for this new club area instead. The space mentioned is in the northeast corner of the seating bowl, behind the last row of the club seating (2...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

No, it's not that. I just wish the folks on this board would get over the financing and enjoy the architecture. I absolutely love it. Mpls will be known as the city with the awesome stadium." The metrodome was an embarrassment and I loathed that eyesore since day one. Give this behemoth some lo...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

The bridge is a waste of money. It was never needed when the metrodome was standing so I don't see why it's needed now. I'm not buying everyone entering the east side either, there will be gates all around the building just like at the dome.

Re: Target Center Renovation

It looks like it's a go. This eyesore is finally getting some love. Will it look great when done? No, but it will be much improved and I'm looking forward to it. Those powder blue circle vents towards the top always bothered me. Good riddance to those! http://www.startribune.com/target-center-renova...
