Re: Major League Soccer Stadium in Minneapolis
The premise is there for an economic catalyst just as we are seeing with the new Vikings Stadium. Knowing full well the WF project was already in conjunction with the stadium but there has been plenty of other new projects that have been started. Plus I don't think anything presented is an actual pr...

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium in Minneapolis
One would think any potential lost taxes would more than be made up in revenue from other sources, let alone the taxes that those revenues would generate.

World's Fair 2023
From what I heard on the news this morning, Minnesota is the only state in the US offering to host this. https://www.facebook.com/Expo2023 http://expo2023.info/ http://www.minnesotaworldsfair.org/

Re: Mayo Clinic Square
I've been saying for years that Best Buy and Target should focus on smaller urban stores and even kiosks in some places. Not everyone has the internet or even smart phones. I've also been saying it for the Uptown area, still mad that Best Buy left that area 20 years ago. Now that Target is starting ...

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Well that's not true, you've been posting the same thing in this thread since October (page 3) and every few pages since. Moving on... I know you are the moderator, but there is no reason to be an a-hole. Before today the last time I posted in this thread was in December 2014, which is well beyond ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
It's a shame we remember the criminal and not the victims, unless they are famous. That building was where Andrew Kunanan killed two people and then went on the murdering spree ending in his shooting Versace in South Beach...

Re: "The Miracle of Mpls", Local Responses & Racial Disparit
Maybe trying to run for Hennepin County position, or State?I'm pretty apathetic about the MOA situation but, man, the Bloomington City Attorney seems like just the worst. What game is she playing? Who is she being so difficult for?

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park

First let me thank you for pointing out my flaws. You're a rock star, since you obviously have none and always point out others. Your contributions are always spot on Mr. Rock Star. I for one am all for green spaces downtown. I used to advocate for Block E to to be...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
Well there are lot more people in that area moving about, they are also much smaller in size. I also don't want to see permanent public bathrooms on the park, unless they can only be opened during certain approved events. What would the park be for then, on days where there was no programmed activi...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
I did write that it wasn't wise to put any permanent seating areas, including picnic tables. It would become a permanent bedroom for drunks. Why? That doesn't seem to be a problem at Government Plaza or Gold Medal Park, both only a couple blocks away. Well there are lot more people in that area mov...

Unrelated to current discussion on schools, but have we talked about this proposed building before? https://twitter.com/smckenzie21/status/568523409467916288 Appears to be new to me. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B-PM73nIIAAlenz.png New 18-story, 293-unit residential bldg proposed for 10th & Marq...

Re: 10th & Marquette Development
That white is going to be grey in about three months. Read the thread people........these are not going to be the final colors. Look at the City docs. From the city docs- In keeping with the spirit of the guild industry, the building takes on a modern artisan approach to the qualities of a crafted ...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
When I lived in Uptown and worked downtown I'd either ride my bike, take the bus and drive. I had no problem going up Hennepin in the morning prior to 6am. ZOOM. Going home never would I take Hennepin or 1st Ave, I took Portland south to 26th west to Bryant, avoiding Lyndale/Lake, south on Bryant, w...
