Re: Nicollet-Lake Area - to Kmart...and beyond!
I'm hoping that when they reopen Nicollet they help to make the entire Eat Street an all inclusive district, much like the Gaslamp District in San Diego. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaslamp_Q ... _San_Diego

That's going to be a really nice area once it gets developed. Kind of reminds me of what they are doing at the old Ford plant in St. Paul.

^^^Wow almost 2 years since the last post. The building does look pretty cool but at the same time looks kind of like a mess. I hope it ages well.

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp
I ran by the Fed's parking lot the other day. It looks like they're installing a security fence around the perimeter of the parking lot. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk Maybe they are just preparing for the upcoming inauguration. We really don't know where these terrorists will strike next.

Re: Southside - General Topics
Yea I used to own a house across 31st St from the church for 15 years. Always loved the building and it's historical significant architecture to Minneapolis. Wouldn't believe that it would be torn down. So I did read up a little on the building being converted to an apartment building. Approved for ...

Re: Southside - General Topics
So a friend of mine told me they were tearing Joyce Methodist Church down and putting up apartments. I'm kind of surprised, because last I heard they were turning the church into apartments. I can't find anything about it being torn down and replaced. Then again this person who told me is often livi...

Re: Downtown Riverfront - Mill Ruins Park - Waterworks
Those round things in the river lock system generally don't look round from most angles. I'd like to see them painted in various colors, put masts and sails on them, light them up at night, perhaps even synchronize them for various things like the 4th of July fireworks. Something to jazz up the rive...

Re: 1301 W Lake St - LOCAL Ventures - 14 stories / 160'
A nice update on the Girard/Lake/Fremont proposal. Still a work in progress but I see the LOCAL is working with the neighborhood. A 2 tower proposal is a possibility but currently it looks like they lopped off 10 stories on the Fremont side of the project. Plans for tall Uptown apartment tower scale...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium
I am surprised that Dallas/Ft Worth have only hosted once. Currently I think our stadium, Atlanta's new one are the 2 best stadiums in the country. The new Chargers stadium in LA will be the best though when finished. Just beautiful. Vegas has got to be the ugliest of the newest built. If you put a ...

Interesting you can see the rainbow lights reflected in the river from the bridge and then looking a bit more closely you can see the bridge is lit up for Pride as well. Barely noticeable especially considering it's not the subject of the story. Now if only Twelve and Fourteen would be announced and...

Make it multi-generational. Arcade for teens, reading and internet place for seniors with tea and coffee. Throw in kiosks that have different businesses in them. Their use is won by lottery that you pay for. Put in a food court with either international food or a bunch of American fast food, since M...

I may be misunderstanding you, but spending 30% of your income on housing is a pretty standard metric of affordability. and on top of that if you worked fairly close..or maybe even not so close with public transportation, would you even need a car. I remember owning my house near 31st/Emerson Ave S...

I can definitely see why you think so. They do have a lot of similarities from a distance. Now if only the library had gotten it's planned planetarium.Did pelli make the library kind of look like the dolphin staffing building?

Maybe one of those mini Cub Foods stores. The one in south Minneapolis is so cool. It would cater more to the neighborhood what with the density here and really wouldn't require parking.

Crave restaurant is great. I've been to the one in Woodbury twice now, one being this past Sunday before going to the Heart concert. The food, atmosphere, staff, all are exceptional.
