Re: Mozaic (all phases)
Here's an unlocked article from the Strib. No mention of them leaving at some point, though given the note that WeWork looks for short-term corporate clients, I guess this is exactly what they'd want anyway.

LOL at congestion in downtown St. Paul. I work in DT STP and it's practically a ghost town when I leave at 4:30/5.

Re: Bike Share
The only change I would think they need to consider is long term installing posts into each hub parking space that the bike be locked to as a way of preventing them from moving once locked. There is no reason why sombody could pick up a bike and move it into an area that makes sombody want to repor...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
I think the hiring on a communications shop for 2040 really depends on what exactly their contract spells out what they do. Anyone who has ever worked at or with a comms agency knows that a lot of times they're hired to interface with internal comms teams to expand capacity. Internal teams are usual...

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
I think I'd have less of an issue with South Uptown if CARAG wasn't a neighborhood that is also part of LynLake.

I think the biggest issue with the live-work spaces is that it seems like they'll be pretty dark most of the time. Some of these units seem like they'll never get direct sunlight.

It would be interesting if Alchemy was opening a second downtown location. Then again, the downtown dweller (or even someone who just works downtown) is definitely a prime demographic for them. One nice thing about Alchemy is that they haven't shied away from truly urban spaces - they already have s...

Very interesting redevelopment proposed for 927 West Broadway: Phillips Family Foundation partnering with TRI Construction and New Rules for office, retail, art venue, plus future redevelopment of 1001 West Broadway site with housing, office, and parking. Phillips helps essentially finance the purch...

By the time this finishes, the Minneapolis minimum will likely be $15/hr. At that wage, assuming 40 hours a week for 4 weeks a month, 30% of that persons income is $720. Were you assuming state minimum wage? The article says funding by the end of 2019 with a 10-11 month build period. Assuming it op...

Love that they're including 5(!!!) small retail spaces. And it looks pleasant to walk by from the street.
But ugh...it's...a big, dark box that just seems to swallow everything around it.

It's obviously a little different, but that hasn't exactly stopped Surly from being a smashing success in this area. There are still 1-2 hour waits on weekends to get a table.

Re: Mortenson / USBank site - 333 Hennepin Ave E (290' - 26 stories)
Also, I don't understand why named streets in "South" streets areas don't get the "S" directional suffix, and it bugs me sooooo much. (e.g. Nicollet Ave, Stevens Ave, Portland Ave, Chicago Ave, Park Ave, Cedar Ave, etc...) I would assume the rationale is that those streets lie e...

She's running closest to the center and, from what the Twitterverse is telling is, is liked well enough by the olds. So I'm guessing that's her constituency.

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018
I take this with a grain of salt, but I thought it was interesting: Some folks in the know have told me their internal polling shows Lori tanking. Apparently it's been popping up in their phone calls to DFL voters and enthusiasm is strong. I was less sure before, but I think we'll see a tight finish...

Yeah, two drug stores several blocks apart isn't all that close.
I'd kinda prefer if the anchor tenant was a Target store of the express variety, but a 24-hour store like Walgreens would definitely be a great amenity for the neighborhood.

You can certainly do pretty much all your grocery shopping at TJ's depending on what you cook, but they really are "best" for easy-to-make frozen entrees, prepackaged stuff, and speciality/ethnic items that in some areas of the country are hard to find.

I can't imagine that a Nice Ride rebalancer is monitoring the location of the scooters and moving them accordingly. It kinda sounds like he wanted to keep the scooters away from the bikes, TBH.

I think the big plan here was to build this ramp so that all of the Bassett Creek Office building tenants could get off of the surface lot and move into this ramp; thereby, allowing Schafer Richardson to develop the surface lot. I am guessing that this ramp will be mostly office workers from Basset...
