Re: Nicollet Residences

I don't think they would go with MOA, but maybe. I think they would more likely go in Edina, or even out of the market. If they do leave, I REALLY don't see another department store taking it's place...I think that is VERY wishful thinking. Downtown just isn't a retail destination anymore...which do...

Re: Nicollet Residences

Well that's disappointing. It certainly is hard to get a decent looking residential high rise built around here. The Carlyle is pretty nice, and the Phoenix (though not that tall), but the other recent ones are pretty blah. Also, interesting that they plan on starting construction on the office buil...

Nice...Opus will be doing the whole block. I like how they have included their apartment tower in the rendering.

Re: ATLAS at the Grey hound terminal.

Yeah, that was the tower Bob Lux floated and had supposedly signed Lund's on for the ground floor...must be about 5 or 6 years ago...because it was after Lunds initial false start on their current location. I believe the companies name is Alatus. That Bob Lux is really starting to irritate me...he h...

Re: Calhoun Square

That would be awesome! They are one of the only places I can find that actually has slim fitting shirts, cheap ones at least. I have been wishing they would open downtown...it seems like they are one of the few retailers that would actually do well downtown, huge with the lunch hour shopping crowd. ...

Re: 1001 Nicollet - New Target Building

I am curious about what your response is to my earlier comment...how is it possible that there was this mystery extra tall Target tower proposed and blocked by the neighborhood, when it was never even presented? Everything presented to the neighborhood groups is public, and what they presented was 4...

Re: 1001 Nicollet - New Target Building

It is sad that there are so many suburban corporate campuses...imagine the difference it would make if even just one of them had located downtown instead.

Re: 1001 Nicollet - New Target Building

Nasa, unless the original design was top secret and only between the company and the neighborhood group, that is false. Everyone saw the original designs and plans before the neighborhood even got to have input. The first plan they put forward was taller, yes, but not even that much. I want to say i...

Re: 1368 LaSalle Ave development

I think they were doing some more minor work/testing on this site today...there were some fresh dug up spots and a piece of earth moving equipment.

Just checked it out...it is a VERY nice store. Almost reminds me of a Dean and Deluca.

Re: Downtown Lunds Store - 12th & Hennepin

That price is per pound of course...so are you trying to tell me that a 1/2 pound container of potato salad (enough for at least a few people) for $1.50 is expensive? Really? But yea, it is pretty good potato salad...not as good as mine though! All of the stores put too much mayo and not enough must...
