Re: Walker Library
Hennepin County Library's page for the Walker states that it will be closing on September 22nd; I assume this will mark the start of construction (or preparation.)

Re: Bruce Vento Trail Bridge
I think they will. If you look closely, this bridge actually appears to be a suspension bridge, rather than a cable-stayed bridge like Sabo is.Reminds me of the Martin Sabo Bridge in Minneapolis. A design that I like, but I hope the contractors and/or engineers get it right this time!

Finally, a render for the old Shinder's building/ future home of Shea on Hennepin. That roof will certainly be interesting to see.

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
While the obvious cause of this is that people would rather be outside for nice weather and the food trucks are giving them that option, I'd like to think that maybe their presence is helping people realize how nice vibrant streets are. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/print-edition/2012/07/06/...

Re: Xcel Energy HQ
This is a fantastic looking building. It looks like it'll do a great job of complimenting the old HQ and tying in with the new development in the area. It's also good to see that Xcel will be using this in addition to their old building, rather than vacating it and leaving an empty structure.

Burch Pharmacy Building - (1934 Hennepin Avenue)
Work on the building has begun. Windows on the upper floors have been removed and it looks like they've started stripping the interior as well. The plan at this point is to have a restaurant on the ground floor and office space above. As this looks like it'll be a pretty substantial renovation, I st...

Has anyone seen any decent renderings of this project? A couple small images turn up in a Google image search, but that's all I can find.

Re: Uptown Theatre
Last time I saw, the tower sign had been restored, but they hadn't started on the marquee yet. I assume that'll be next. I'm really excited to see if they fixed the rotating beacon on the top of the tower.

Re: Van White Memorial Bridge
Hopefully this project, the Lowry bridge finally opening, and Plymouth Ave bridge coming back online will give a little kick to North Minneapolis economically. Right now, there aren't really many ways in there from the rest of the city.
