Re: Vikings Stadium
Even if the stadium spills over Portland, you would think you could build Portland underneath that portion a la Target Field and the train tracks. With HCMC right there I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in favor of closing that off (other than the developer). I'm anxious to see what the f...

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)
Anything they can do to camouflage that beast is welcome in my book. Of course, now that I have uttered those words I'm sure the county will pick something that is hideous and the garbage burner itself would look better...just a guess.

I didn't notice the skyride coming out of the post office before...looks like it's headed to De La Salle only it will be about 600 feet off the ground by the time it gets there. It'd be a pretty chilly ride in the winter, but think of the views during the Aquatennial fireworks.

Re: Mayoral Race
I was talking about this particular stretch because that was what was in the article you linked. I grew up in that neighborhood. With the park and the school there I understand there is a lot of foot traffic. I'm all for pedestrian traffic, I'd love it if I never had to drive a car, but that's not a...

Betsy Hodges' first policy stance of the campaign: stay in the dark, pedestrians: http://www.startribune.com/local/blogs/188917581.html At least the strib didn't deride the lights as ornamental just because they're useful to pedestrians, as KSTP did. Until I hear otherwise, I'll assume that Betsy H...

Re: Peavey Plaza reconstruction project
This is not a class warfare issue, but it is an issue that needs to be addressed. I refuse to take my children to that library anymore simply because it is disgusting in there. Men use the sinks to bathe in, the carpeting and many chairs are urine soaked, and building itself is just plain filthy. Th...

Metro Chambers of Commerce pleading to the legislature for more transit funding: http://www.kare11.com/news/article/1008561/396/Metro-business-groups-support-mass-transit-buildup- This can only be seen as a good thing. As a taxpayer who has already seen his taxes jump, I beg to differ. Where is the...

Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I drove past this site this morning and they had the street blocked off while they were assembling a really tall boom crane. Hoping it's in preparation for installing the stationary tower crane. It's nice to see so much activity!

Re: Pentagon Park in Edina (Hwy 100 & Industrial Blvd)
I wouldn't get too excited. They're going through and remodeling the 3 story buildings right now and trying to lease that space. They have done something unique in that they have 3 levels of leasing; each level has its own amenities, larger windows, different wall and floor coverings, etc. Until tho...

If it weren't for the State Capitol being in St. Paul, the place would have been a ghost town long ago. As it is, the downtown is not too far from that.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
I agree with MplsTodd, the spaces that WF has in Baker, Northstar, and 5th Street towers are dated and probably a little disfucntional given the amount of time they've been in those spaces. Realligning these spaces in new buildings would probably look pretty advantageous to them. I'd be happy with a...

Re: Accessory Dwelling Units
My neighbor just built, what he defines as, the garage-majal. Very nice, I would move into it! It has a full stairwell and a finished upstairs...took a lot of time for the city to approve it though. I guess I don't have a problem with accessory dwelling units as long as they are held up to the stand...

I'm guessing they would like the post office gone. After all, it's Minneapolis, if they've done a study and it doesn't fit the mold, they want you out, nevermind the number of people you employ.

Not if you're talking 6700 new employees and 1.5 million square feet.
I think they have enough divisions that the campus-type development makes sense for them. They are building up enough space they may need to change the name of the city to United Health, MN.

I thought it was 1.5 million... Like we'll ever see even half that on this site... I've got some ocean front property in Nevada I'd like to show you. The Parkdales next door are maybe 50% full. Unless a really large tenant really wants to be in this particular location I don't know that this...
