Re: Saint Paul streetcar study

Some notes from a transportation committee packet show that the favored lines for the long-term streetcar system include: East 7th, Grand, Payne, Rice, Robert, Selby/Snelling, and West 7th. I haven't read through this very well, but there's a map at the end of the doc showing these lines. Personally...

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News

Some more good news for Payne Ave: the old Schwietz Saloon will reopen as a bar and eatery, potentially already in August.

Re: Hamm's Brewery - (713 Minnehaha Avenue)

Looks like Flat Earth's conversion and move to the Hamm space is officially underway. Urban Organics is about ready to start production. There's also serious interest from a distillery. Some pictures included in the article, as well as a map of the property. http://lillienews.com/articles/2013/07/15...

Re: Highway 36 changes at Century and Hadley - Open house 7/

I also agree. Century/36 is a very dangerous intersection. I drive that section about 3x/week since I live in Maplewood and travel to and from North St Paul. I've also crossed 36 with my bike there, but that's really not a great idea. There's not much space there, but I hope some sort of interchange...

Re: West Side Flats - (84 Wabasha Street South)

Actually I think they have completed the whole U shape. It's hard to tell since the only rendering, posted at the construction site, only shows the view from Wabasha. I'm not sure what the funky thing on the end is supposed to be. The courtyard seems a little large, and I hope they don't just pave t...

Re: Snelling BRT/enhanced bus

Thanks for the update. I was planning on going but got caught up. There's a ridiculous number of opportunities along this corridor. I hope they take their time to get it right...but still open for service ASAP. I'd assume sidewalks will be added on both sides of Snelling for the entire length. If on...

Here is a pdf overview of the two developments Model Cities is pursuing. Re: St. Paul Project Map

I don't know how to actually edit the map, but a few other potential photo sites: 1. Hamm's Brewery (Minnehaha between Payne Ave and Arcade St): ongoing conversion by Urban Organics, and future site of Flat Earth Brewing. 2. Victoria Park (W 7th at Otto): I believe construction of the apartment buil...

Re: Saint Paul Union Depot

I believe the route 94 bus will actually start/terminate at SPUD in 2014 once the Green Line starts running, along with other bus service changes. I do agree that other routes could/should be routed to/from SPUD as well, but that would definitely require a pretty extreme reworking of the downtown bu...

The interlining aBRT on W/E 7th will definitely happen first, but the "Gold" line is also moving forward it looks like. The Ramsey Regional Railroad Authority just reinstated funding for the Rush Line Advanced Alternatives Analysis, so after a number of years hiatus, this may be moving for...

Re: New Senate office building (St. Paul Capitol Hill)

It's good to see the area around the Ford building filled in, even though it is a parking ramp. Would some govt-related retail be easier to attract and sustain in a govt-owned structure? I'm thinking a post office or something that truly would get used by the community as well. I don't really have a...

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News

The Buttered Tin will be opening soon on East 7th St in Lowertown. An article from the Pi Press: http://www.twincities.com/restaurants/ci_23249298/st-paul-bakery-and-cafe-looks-sweeten-up They've also got a KickStarter page, if anyone is interested; nice video with the owners explaining their vision...
