Re: Downtown Office Market
My biggest fear is that these groups are just leveraging new leases and upgrades to their current locations. I'm as anxious as anyone for a new tower or two to be built, I'm just getting more and more pessimistic the more I hear about it. Some people I know in commercial real estate are not as optom...

Re: Plymouth Building apartments
The problem with that logic is that this is primarily class B space which doesn't usually translate to building new class A space. We'll see if there is an uptick in current class A adsorption, but I doubt it. I'd be glad to be proven wrong though.

Re: Mayoral Race
MNDible, I apologize for my comment earlier, I just get very frustrated with what sounded like mocking coming from you. I think twincitizen summed up a lot of local politics to me with his post. I think you guys are focusing too much on party identification in a race that technically is non-partisan...

Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
From what I can see, the only part of the parking portion will be a ramp to go to the 2nd and 3rd levels. The images show the ground level pretty lit up and no sign of any of the parking structure like it shows above. I like both of our new residential towers and am having a hard time figuring out t...

Re: Mayoral Race
Barbara Carlson ran in 1997 and Mark Stenglein in 2001, both with modest success. While neither of those would fit into today's RINO hunting Republican Party (and while Stenglein has always considered himself a Democrat as far as I'm aware, if a fairly conservative one), it's wrong to suggest that ...

Re: Mayoral Race
It would be nice if, for once in my life, I could see a candidate run for mayor that wasn't a democrat or a leftover hippie. This is the one election that I have avoided because, in 30 years of voting I've never seen a candidate I like, not one. I'm not really even asking for a republican, just some...

Re: Radisson Blu - Bloomington
In some of the initial plans for the mall there were hotels and office components built in along with a submarine ride where the amusement park is. One of the designs was very futuristic with blue metal cladding, the mall was square shaped and something like 6 stories with a section at each corner t...

Re: Southdale Center - Edina
It's an avenue :) Back to your point about wanting to make it into a boulevard. I would like to see some better street scaping in this area. There are long stretches with no trees, bushes, anything. Part of that is probably the fear of blocking views around parking lots, but there are plenty of plac...

Re: Southdale Center - Edina
Ok I know I sound like a broken record about this... but this time I'm dead serious. Wouldn't France be a great spot for a multiway boulevard to emerge incrementally over time? Really it just needs two through lanes. Matt, at lunchtime and rush hour all lanes are used and full. There are just so fe...

Re: Vikings Stadium
You're right about that. If you look at every image that they've shown of the Metrodome site, not a single one has even remotely resembled Lucas Oil Stadium. I've half way been hoping people are kidding when they keep protesting so much. The main two images that we have seen are so far removed from ...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
I like this version a little better than the original. I certainly hope the lighting is better than the rendering, there will be a lot of dropped fly balls. The embankment in the outfield will be great on a nice summer night!

Re: Vikings Stadium
You might want to consider that fact that Siebert Field is being rebuilt with donated dollars though, this was not state money. The old stadium was falling apart.

Not as big of a fan, think it looks tacky and only adds to the filth on the building rather than detracting from it.

Re: 612Brew
The opening was a pretty good success from what I could tell, parking was a challenge, even with the large lot. The Zero Hour is a good Black American Ale and the Six is a nice pale ale, not too hoppy. I need to get back over soon to try the other 2.

With the way the freeway dips there, this thing will look much taller than it's 11 stories.

Re: 2013 Minneapolis Municipal Election
She is my council person and I'm not a fan in the slightest. Some of my neighbors love her, but I felt she was abrasive. She came to our national night out event and I tried talking to her about some issues in the area; first she got accusatory, then defensive, then refused to talk to me anymore. I ...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
Still, how is that different than any other office building? IDS, Wells Fargo, RBC, US Bank, Target, shall I go on?Cars flying across the sidewalk midblock for one. And those obnoxious signs flashing and blaring "Caution, car approaching".
