Re: Ayd Mill Road

The bike/pedestrian trail is only 12’ wide? That does not seem wide enough for both bikes and pedestrians. Why can’t they squeeze some space out of the 15’ northbound lane and the 6’-8” boulevard to get the trail closer to 14’ or 15’?

Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Development & RR Corridor/MinHi Line

They did appeal. Zoning and planning committee delayed their vote. I would recommend writing your council member if you want this drive thru stopped.

Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Development & RR Corridor/MinHi Line

Also, there's no bike lane here...it's a right turn lane. If there ever were a bike lane on westbound 42nd, it would be sandwiched between the westbound lane and the right turn lane, not along the curb. Technically you are right, but there are bike lanes directly east and west of this specific site...

Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Development & RR Corridor/MinHi Line

A drive thru would be absolutely terrible. You only have to look at the car bucks at Snelling and Marshall in Saint Paul to see what would happen here. Traffic would back up waiting to get into the parking lot, the bike lane would constantly be blocked, and it will be a horrible entrance for pedestr...

I think they could find plenty to deny this project. The proposed Uhaul project just across the street, which was also very auto oriented, was just recently denied.

Planet Fitness is looking to move into MInnehaha Mall. Too bad they can’t rethink this entire area and the massive surface parking lot.

Would be great to see something cool go in there. Great opportunity for some sort of adaptive reuse project.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

It's pretty crazy they're keeping 4 lanes, though. And they just rebuilt that bridge. Seems like they could have thought about this. They are not putting bike lanes on the bridge over Godfrey?! I thought that area was maybe just out of the scope of the road reconstruction, hence nothing shown there...

And where is the Min Hi Line connection? With all the development happening in this area, including new public roads, the city have a much better grasp on the public space they want to create.

This is bad. The city owns this property and created the RFP. Why would they allow this terrible development in a TOD?

The housing development on the north side of the Aldi parking lot. I wish they would redevelop more of the parking lot and get rid of the drive thru.

I think they could run some additional 21 buses after the game. They were delayed and not coming very frequently. The first bus was too full to take additional riders, so we just went to get dinner to wait out the rush.

B Line meetings coming up soon. This would help with traffic, especially if it goes all the way to downtown Saint Paul.
