Re: Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Clinic Expansion
I was going to express skepticism about campus creep, but if they are going to build a new building and reduce the overall footprint, that's good news.

Not that I know anything, but I'd be surprised by a residential conversion. Seems like they refinanced and remodeled right before an large, unforeseeable, negative shock so maybe someone with less debt can make it viable.

Re: Minnesota Redistricting 2022
With Minneapolis and St. Paul both making progress, there is arguably no real need for zoning change at the state level.

Propaganda works, man.Certain Democrats are so eager to point out statistics that crime rates really aren’t that different, but all the homeless encampments, reports of aggressive cell phone theft rings and locked up toothpaste at Target tell a much more compelling story.

Re: Southside - News & General Topics
The city or country should buy the gas station. They should also look into buying the retail building across the street with a parking lot. This would provide them alot more flexibility to work with given there will be many difference voices on what should be done here. Im not sure what should go t...

One of his top aides was closely involved, and resigned/was fired the day the FBI raid came out in January. His wife's longtime employer appears to be Bock's attorney, and she left the firm in January, around the time that the FBI raided the Feeding our Future offices. https://www.startribune.com/t...

A transit station is a terrible place to do crime if you don't want to be on video.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
I’ve long had a wild idea in my head in which 77 gets the flyover and 62 gets widened — but in exchange for supporting freeway capacity, Minneapolis gets a calmed and pleasant Cedar Ave. That is, the connection from 77 to Cedar is severed, the viaduct over Nokomis goes away, and the grid is re-esta...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
The one over Nokomis is lightly-used due to construction separating it from 77/62 to the south. Cedar Avenue is temporarily so much better for it.Or, let's not build any bridges across the lakes because it detracts from them.

How so? Some people want to ride at car speeds so they use the street. What's the problem?Anyhow...cyclists avoiding a cycletrack and riding in the street still shows that there is something wrong with the theories.

Anyone know what's going on at 38th and Bloomington? There is fencing around several buildings on the northeast corner (where Marla's used to be and the next few building) and the parking lot behind them on the alley.

Re: Richfield - 66th Street - General Topics
If I were the city I'd want something like the the southwest corner of 66th and Lyndale. Those buildings are paying many times the tax per acre than the Hub (excluding the McDonald's). I definitely wouldn't pay them to put in something that is only marginally better than the current configuration. ...

The existing use is so bad that the bar for improvement is really low, but yeah, that's a massive failure of ambition. It's like the property owner/developer didn't even look around past the LA Fitness redevelopment at 66th and Lyndale.

No, you can buy a day pass. Did so with kid the other day. Pricey on days when there's no school, though.I believe you need to be staying at Great Wolf Lodge to use their waterpark.

That all makes sense. And I thought so about the light cycle but haven't been over there in awhile (kid briefly went to preschool at Sibley).
