Whoops. That layer had gotten turned off before export. Fixed. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

So going back to the Minnehaha Parkway discussion... As I mentioned a ways upthread, I live quite close to the intersection of Portland and the Parkway. We walk and bike the trails both directions from Portland all the time. Our children are almost-5 and just-past-2, so we're vividly aware of keepin...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Get rid of the viaducts altogether and have the freeway ramps connect to Plymouth Ave where it crosses 94. Something like this concept from six years ago: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9lysoy59pvsrjdv/nl-redone-rev1.jpg?dl=0 FWIW, I keep meaning to come back to it and make some improvements. Mainly, I’d...

Re: Road Geek Topics

I've noticed the HOV lanes on 35W have had their diamonds removed and EXPRS painted in them instead. Is this simply a matter of semantics or is there a highly technical reason to use the letters instead of the symbol?

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Furthermore, because I’m apparently talkative tonight, I hate the new proposed Portland changes. I feel like they were a capitulation to commuters and loud, squeaky-wheel homeowners with creek frontage. Also also, the rationale in the article is annoying at best. Yeah, there’s a median at the east e...

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

I kinda like the double stoplight intersections. They feel more, um, quaint? than a pinch. It’s not a fair comparison, but Summit/Lexington is far more intimidating than Summit/anything-west-of-there-except-Snelling.

That said, I heart roundabouts.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Echoing Matt’s comment on the Strib site, I don’t like the resignation to the Parkway being a commuter route east of Portland. I live right at the Parkway/Portland mess, and I want to see it calmed severely instead of allowed to stay a speedway. Figure out how to do meandering split one-ways from 35...

The east half seems to be moving toward the former. The west half appears to have no interest in getting better.

I think your scenario is correct, twincitizen. From this page: https://metrocouncil.org/Transportation ... urce=child
Light rail trains would cross Glenwood Avenue North at street level.

K&N did do a little work making the lot nicer somewhat recently. It doesn’t look like the street view any more. But yes, it was nothing but asphalt for a looooong time.

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N

Given the name and "The simple material pallet of natural terra cotta, grey glass and heavy timber structure..." (emphasis added), I'm going to go ahead and assume it'll be mass timber, yes.
