I hope they at least rebuild the missing cornice. I think old buildings look so terrible with their cornices hacked off.

I just had an 'aha' moment. IF and when Wells Fargo expands downtown, perhaps they will vacate this horrific thing on Washington Avenue between 2nd & 3rd opening up an amazing redevelopment opportunity. They use that as their secret bank operations bunker. It's quite possible that they could. B...

I totally agree re: moving more historic homes to Nicollet Island, however the park board owns all the land and as I recall it was a major battle just getting them to agree to preserve the existing housing and moving five additional homes in.

According to a report by the Hertiage Preservation Comission it was built between 1860-1865

Too bad it's going to come down. Not many buildings in Minneapolis from that time anymore.
